Most (if not all) of those guys are ranked lower than Takam in the organisations that Takam is rated in. Except for Dillian Whyte. Those guys havent done as much as Takam and IMO arent as good.

He'll still probably be AJ's second best win, for whatever that is worth.

He's high on the IBF list as he has some Inter-Continental trinket of theirs

Still so much better as Stifferne.

For a stand-in this isn't a bad fight at all. I don't know what people are complaining about, as this guy trumps most (if not all) of Wilder's defenses thus far. As a stand-in!

Takam is a far better last minute replacement than you'd expect. Joshua is now simply meeting his mandatory obligations so you can't blame him or Hearn for the opponent. Nobody thought Pulev would be competitive either.

OP is looking to just complain for the sake of complaining lol.

OP - Should of gotten better last minute stand in.... Joshua just following IBF rules...

OP - Takam is still awful.... still better than Stiverne or any of Wilders defences and still Parkers best defence

OP - Takam still 15/1 rank outsider...but Pulev was a 40/1 rank outsider by a number of betting sites lmao

OP - I blame IBF for having shitty rankings...ignores the fact if this was the WBC AJ would be facing Whyte again a guy he already KO'd or if the WBA he'd be facing Ustinov lol.

Takam is a hard dude with a good workrate and a good punch.

I personally think that he's BETTER than Pulev because he fights with heart and does good inside work. He gave Povetkin all he could handle and Parker a very good go too.

The other thing is that Pulev hasn't looked that impressive since Wlad put his soul in a box and took it home with him. Going into that fight he seemed as though he truly believed that he was the best and coming out of it he's looked mentally weak and frankly much more tentative.

Pulev poncing around trying to jab AJ and trying to do ... something ... is not going to be as stiff a test as Takam moving in head first and throwing bombs. Let's see that Joshua chin tested. Sheffield steel, or Wedgewood china? Let's find out.

Watch this space. Carlos is going to give AJ some rough moments and I think that he has a better chance of beating him than Pulev did.

It's efficient work from Hearn and Joshua. Who wanted to see his IBF mandatory obligations drag on? It could easily have been postponed.

This is a thousand times better than the belt being held hostage, having endless voluntaries or the rankings just being ignored.

Pretty hilarious that aj found a late replacement at two weeks notice that is better than anyone wilder has faced

It's not impossible, its absolutely possible. Imagine it was Klitschko. Its absolutely possible and I think Takam who is currently ranked higher than all of Wilders opponents barring Stirverne makes it fair to say better.

Somehow he's next in line. This is just the same, utter mismatch. But being mandatory out the way.

When Parker had Fury pull out with an injury in May, Parkers team got him Cojanu after looking around as a contingency plan didnt look to be in place.

Joshua gets Takam of all people to replace Pulev. Its not a big drop in calibre of opponents. Its not like Hearns backup plan was a Cojanu. Its also very good by Hearn to have a swift backup plan in place.

Takam is a quality opponent for late notice, Donkeypotamus' team would've deemed Carlos Molina too dangerous on 2 weeks notice, never mind Carlos Takam.
