depends on weight training, body fat percentage and strength and conditioning coach and what he focuses on most.
calzaggi focused on cardio it will burn your fat and your muscle if over done due to his style of fighting it was obvious cardio was used most.
cunningham focuses on power he does weights more then cardio
you build your body how you want it. if you look soft cut back on salts and drop the body fat % dont gotta be roids.

the retirement allowed muscle mass to sit in. you wouldnt belive how much musclethese fighters burn doing so much cardio but when they stop doing so much cardio you see how bulky they get. he couldnt make the weight for marquez.
but wen he fought oscar he could

I would just like to point out AGAIN,that Marquez was only about 5 lbs heavier in the ring against Pacquiao in their 4th fight, than he was in their 1st fight 8 years ago.

He was plenty lean and defined back then too, so he put on about 5 lbs of muscle.

Considering he started training properly and in a modern scientific manner, and started drinking protein shakes as oppoed to his own urine, its not even remotely odd,he looks how he looks.

Hes slightly bigger and slightly more defined.

People are talking as if he turned into the hulk in the last year!

People are comparing his mayweather fight physique.

Normal feather weight Marquez looks great, then mayweather fight Marquez is a total disaster (for freak sake he was throwing rocks around, drinking **** and bird eggs) and people compare present Marquez to disaster Marquez totally dismissing his body before or true scientific conditioning that took place with memo and also he trained for 4 1/2 months, 8 weeks longer than a normal camp.

Floyd weighs in the high 150s when hes not training.

Here he is weiging for his WWE "fight". He wasnt training for a fight at the time, and he weighed in here in his clothes and weighed 159.

    0.45 second mark

If he weighed in at 159 with all his clothes on then he wouldnt weigh in the high 150s hed weigh in the lower 150s. ****, boots and jeans add alot more than youre thinking they do.

Not a bodybuilders physique at all.
Marquez just a pumped up little guy.
Dedication and diet and the right training progrm would do it for most atheletes.

Cool read. Marquez has tremendous power. His accumilation of punces has destroyed tough fighters like Katsidis and Diaz in their prime. The thing is when he fought Mayweather he had no snap/pop on his punches and the speed wasnt there. Nacho even admitted he was worried about.Marquez's speed during training. Memo's sole purpose was to turn the extra weight into muscle/power and RETAIN the explosiveness and speed Marquez had at 135 and thats what he did.

The only difference in the 4th fight was both fihters were trying to rip eachothers head off. It was silly of Pacquiao and Roach to attempt a knockout when they have failed to keep Marquez down for 3 fights. They played right into.Marquez's hands and the ko came from amazing timing. Timing of both seeking a ko in a 4th fight, timing of Marauez being 2X more hungry for a win than Pacquiao, timing of Marquez's beautiful counter-right hand. That was spectacular.

None of the guys in boxing resemble bodybuilders. JMM is 5'7" and is a full 50-60 pounds lighter than a bodybuilder, and has more bodyfat. The klits are tiny for their height. These guys look like well conditioned athletes, gym rats, or underwear models....not even remotely close to national level or pro bodybuilders.

JMM made small changes in his physique in reality. He lost some water and bodyfat, while adding a few pounds of muscle. He added virtually no scale weight. This isn't that hard to do even at 40 plus years of age.Training with weights for the first time, coupled with structured nutrition and a knowledgeable trainer can make those changes quite easily. He obviously worked hard too. That's his job and when you have all your time and energy dedicated to training, eating and sleeping, even bigger changes than he showed are possible.....and cleanly. He changed his body composition, but didn't turn into a mass monster. I'm a fan, but wouldn't rule out PEDs whatsoever. But, his changes really were not that amazing, and can easily be attributed to the other possibilities.
