I didn't/won't watch it, but I've heard from numerous people that he wasn't. Some journalist were writing about it as well. At what points did Mayweather mention him?

During his time at the podium he thanked Al Haymon. And so did every other fighter. Floyd was asked some direct questions about why he chose Berto.

Al probably knows this will be a failure from a PPV standpoint.
Hardcore boxing fans will turn away. Plus there will be no positive chatter from ESPN drumming this fight up.
This will go from farewell to good riddance.

On free TV many would have accepted this fight.........PPV not so much.

Don't forget Floyd stated several times " I don't fight for the fans, I don't fight for titles I fight for ME I fight for $$$$$$"
The ironic part about that is I have yet to see Floyd actually FIGHT!! He cannot fight he runs ,holds, repeats for 12 rounds because he knows in Vegas he cannot lose

Are you really surprised that a fighter nicknamed "Money" doesn't want to give away his product for free. #freeboxing4all

May doesn't care about the fans, and at this point he has enough money that there's no reason for him to care.

The mistake CBS/Showtime made was to tease the fans that it would be on CBS, put pull back at the last minute. I wasn't looking forward to the fight for free, and the $75 price tag is the final insult.

I had wondered how CBS would handle May if he fought on the network. CBS and the NFL has taken a very public stance against woman beating. It's hard to see how they'd address his convictions in this current time.

Ffs the guy made +$200mill last time....he could have had a free fight in Central Park NYC and gone out a stud. But noooooo....his fans have to pay $75 freaking dollars to see him fight one last time vs an opponent no one would pay 50cents to fight.

We know Floyd never has enough money, he's one greedy *******, imagine if that wealth was shared even a little between other fighters  He'd slink over to HBO the minute they one upped Showtime. This has never been in question.

Imagine your boss telling you to work for free. No thanks. Floyd did the right thing, if you have a contract, you have a contract.

No one would give a damn about fans if they're not being paid right. In the end, it's all about the pay checks. Maybe you deliver Domino's pizzas for glory and history making, but others work for money and will do anything to increase it.
