The fact remains that even though American does play all the other sports that the world does, American Football and Basketball are the two biggest ones - and they offer the most money (remember, they're both team sports, not individual ones like boxing).

Yeah, same fact that matters for Europeans. Europeans also play all the sports Americans do, but Handball is far bigger than sports like Basketball etc.

In Australia the HW champions are playing Australian rules football. I have lived in Austrlia for a few years, and I was annoyed that so much great talent was wasted on sports that only Australians care about...

In Europe do they show boxing on any of the major networks or do have to search around to find boxing shows on some cable channel that comes on every one in a while. ESPN has Friday Night Fight, that's put on hold for tennis events. HBO and Showtime are ok you advanced warning when boxing is going to come on. Boxing is a sport in the USA that has been put on the back burner. Unless your are a boxing fan there no real exposure anymore. So, alot of the big men go to the NBA and NFL because there is much more exposure to those sport and more opportunity. It's real simple, and it's true not a myth.

In 2011 Vitali Klitschko earned approximately 30 million (US. dollars), 4 million more than the highest paid NBA player and 7 million more than the highest NFL player.:deal:lol:

Boxing generally has a more prominent place in the US than Europe - despite not being what it was even in the US media.

Remember for example that Boxing in completely banned in some European countries (for example Norway, Sweden etc.).

NBA and NFL have tremendously talented athletes. You guys make it sound like anyone could go and do well in NBA or any good boxer would be the best at NFL.
Of course being tall and athletic doesn't mean you will do well in boxing but when you have thousands of athletes then you are bound to have some that would do really well in boxing.
    Lebron James: 6 ft 8 250 pounds.
He is fast, durable and works hard. Maybe as a boxer he would have a tremendous punch or good technical skills ? Or maybe he has a glass chin ?
You cant say he wouldn't do well in boxing because he is in a different sport.
"Why did he pick Basketball if he is so good ?" Well maybe he grew up playing basketball instead of being in the gym, getting his face punched in.

A lot of people get pulled into basketball and other sports in high school because boxing isn't that popular.

I agree with this , most Aussie rules footballers are 6'2+ and the athleticism is unbelievable I hate the game personally , it has weakened Australia's boxing prospects the height these tall guys can jump , and they are constantly running on a huge oval for 90 mins ... The stamina is incredible

What did they make in endorsements James was at 33 million last year. We can also go back a few year and see what Jordan made in endorsements. Now whether either of these guy would be great heavyweights we will never know both are very tall and very athletic. I will post this again this is the chosen route for the would be future heavyweights of American.

James earned a total of 48 million last year, and 43 million the year before. The 43 million was reported by Forbes.
