Oh this whole thing must be a joke a perfect explaination is said to be fantasy. The truth is the Klitschos are in a poor era of heavy weight boxing just like Larry Holmes was they're all great fighters but tough to say the greatest because their competitionis subpar.
The Klitschkos have many more endorsements than James because they are not only big names in Germany, but Russia and also Ukraine....
That's with endorsements stupid! Again thats what Vitali earned on boxing, with his endorsements he made far more than James.:deal
The salery doesn't matter much. When guys start a sport usually it is because their friends do or family do etc. Or because the sport is seen as very prestigious in society. For example in Australia the Aussie Rules players are icons and stars of the coloured magazines.. the young guys playing it do not think that they would earn more by being a super server in Tennis as Ivanisevic os someone. In Europe many areas have a tradition for playing Handball and being on the first team in Handball is extremely prestigious. So the money really has very little to do with anything. Fact is that many sports around the world draw talent away from Boxing.
James Toney was a stand-out high school football star. He played QB until he injured his knee then started boxing later in life. Years ago guys like Bob Foster & Ken Norton played a lot of gridiron but went into boxing as there was more money available. These days the reverse is true, go figure...
The question isn't which one has better perks but if basketball and football didn't exist or werent as popular as they are would the heavyweight division be better.
First it is about the money.. Then your "money theory" gets exposed, so then it is not about the money anymore, but about: "could the NFL/NBA athletes be the BEST in boxing"?.. But now we are back at the money arguement again :blood
Your posts just get worse & worse, Norton-Ali 3 was the richest fight in history until it was surpassed by Leonard-Duran. Log off & comeback when the butthurt has died down a bit.
/End thread You can only cherry-pick data when the facts aren't on your side. What a glaringly flawed argument. Even if the most elite boxers make what most or top NBA/NFL do. These guys aren't getting punched in the face, so it's already infinitely more fun and appealing. Anybody remember early in Magic's career when he signed a 25 year 25 million dollar contract. Not too bad. I also question whether Vitali truly earned 30 million dollars from boxing in 2011.
