    Maderna advances behind his jab, pushing Véliz around the ring. Véliz stays on the outside, pawing out his left jab and then cowering in retreat. A few body shots by Maderna, tossed in cautiously as he feels Véliz out and gets an idea of his speed. That speed isn't all that considerable. Maderna's confidence grows as the round bears on, and he's soon drilling Véliz into the corner with straight shots.

Veliz hasn't landed a punch yet lol. BODY shot by Maderna lands crisp. Overhand right by Veliz lands first shot late. BIG RIGHT HAND by Maderna, Nice flurry late to follow up! Veliz a little hurt.

    Véliz is reaching out with his left, jabbing and hooking off of it from a safe distance while taking wooden steps to his left. Maderna works his way in behind a fluttering jab, and connects with an uppercut to the midsection as Véliz is backing up. Maderna puts several jabs on his face before drilling a right to the body, then flipping it upside down for a quick uppercut as Véliz tries to stay off the ropes. Jabs, jabs, jabs by Maderna. Véliz ducks against the ropes and puts both gloves thumb to thumb over his head. He gets brave after the ten second clap, throwing a few rights up out of a crouch while crab-walking inside.

Double jab by Maderna keeping range. Fighting careful knowing already he can control this guy though. Right to the head and then body by Maderna. left hand by Veliz thrown back, Trying to catch Maderna on the ropes but is not doing well as another right by Maderna lands! Veliz misses a combo,
