Ezzard Charles and Evander Holyfield one in the same?

This is a popular misconception. Charles was a boxer for 3 years from the age of 18 to 21 then he was absent for three years during the war. Until then he never made 170lb so he was hardly a light heavy.

After the war he started all over again in 1946. It was like a new career. aged 24 this time he was a fully fledged light heavyweight ...but not for very long. Within about 8 months of this he was fighting heavyweights.

Floyd Patterson was a lightheavyweight for as long as Charles was. I think Charles was rated as a lightheavyweight for the 1946-47 season when he weighed within its limit.

His first career he did register as a lightheavyweight whilst still a tall middle in 1942, but that was more because he beat a rated light heavy rather than actually being one himself.

Charles was a heavyweight from the age of 25. He was not past his best as a heavyweight.

 

Stop making absurd and silly excuses, evander was naturally much bigger framed than charñes and much more muscular, and did hit much harder

 

charles never was a hw, he was a lhw WHO did increment his weight in order to fight at 180s 190 pounds, evander weighed 190 and he looked skinny at 24, however charñes at 190 was in his heaviest moment, please in the next thread try to convince to the people about Thomas hearns being OF the same size OF max baer
