Hi Mike, Thanks for your kind words, as always. I agree with you, Charles is my #5 p4p fighter of all time, his win resume in fights contested in all weight divisions is just insane, and arguably Greb aside, rivals any other fight in history. As for your other points, I think some people revel in perceiving themselves as contrarians and their default position can be to challenge conventional thinking. Others just like to be controversial. Which is fine with me, so long as their viewpoints are supported by facts & balanced rationale. Whilst I agree with you on the specific point of Charles, those questioning his greatness are adopting weak positions imo, in general I actually welcome people who challenge me when I apply conventional thinking. Sometimes it causes me to see things differently, whilst on other occasions, the subsequent deeper analysis I do as a result of that challenge, makes me more confident in my original position. Having re-examined my notes & data because of certain posts in this thread challenging Charles greatness, both in a general sense & specifically at LHW, I'm now even more convinced than I was this time yesterday that Charles is the GOAT at LHW. Cheers, you stay safe too Mike
Ezzard was one of the best p4p fighters ever. Anyone who can beat Archie Moore three times has to be a bit special, for a start.
You're still on the sunny side of the sod, then @cross_trainer ? I thought you might have fallen off the edge of @shadow111 's flat earth ! Good to 'hear' from you, however obliquely.
