Without rematches please, Archie Moore doesn't need to take up 2/3 places. Mine would go 1. Archie Moore 1 2. Joe Louis 3. Jersey Joe Walcott 1 or 2 4. Charley Burley 1 or 2 5. Jimmy Bivins 2 HM: Lloyd Marshall, Rex Layne, Elmer Ray, Oakland Billy Smith, Gus Lesnivich and Joey Maxim
1. Archie Moore 3 (proved he was the greatest LHW of all time with this series, knocked Archie out) 2. Jersey Joe Walcott 1 (became heavyweight champ through this fight) 3. Charley Burley 1 (did what Moore could not and beat Burley, he was even stated to have nearly knocked Burley out!) 4. Joey Maxim 4 (pick any of them tbh, Maxim is an ATG light heavy and Charles soundly out boxed him every time.) 5. Jimmy Bivins 2 (great fight, another ATG name on his resume) Louis and Layne would've easily made the list had they not been past prime. Terrific fighter, greatest light heavy of all time
Agreed. Good list and he's definitely imo the best LHW ever, I put Louis on there based on name and he did go on to beat a nine or so contenders afterwards, he was definitely shot though
Charles is another one from that era that could have been the top "Cruiserweight of all time" when the fantasy subject comes up.
The knockout of Archie Moore has to be No. 1. Louis, of course, has to be in there and Jersey Joe for the title. One of the Maxim wins. And Bivins 2. Probably in that order. Damn, his next 5 would probably stack up with a lot of top 5 wins for ATGs.
