Patterson's athleticism, speed, power, aggression and conditioning are too much this combination does not brew well with the great Ezzard.

I don't think Floyd had power that Charles would not have experienced before.
The guy fought and beat Ray,Satterfield,Valdes,Walcott,Baksi,Moore.
    Aggression and conditioning?
A past prime Charles gave Marciano all he wanted in their first fight.

The speed is the one area where Floyd holds the aces imo,he might land one of those leaping Kangaroo left hooks and turn Ezzard's lights out, equally Charles had the power to drop Floyd.

One of my favorite fantasy fights. I don't know here. If pressed, I'd lean towards Charles but I can't be too certain. I think Charles can drop Patterson, in fact I know so, but Patterson gets up on the other hand, Patterson has the power to plant Charles and keep him planted. Problem is, he has to land the punch first and on a prime Charles, no easy task.

I picked Floyd to beat Berbick and fare well vs Mercer and gave him a good chance vs Shavers. It's the best I can do.

Yes. It's our obligatory semi annual boxingforum24.com tradition.

They were both fairly similar, Ezzard was a better counter puncher, they were both equally light on their feet, great left hooks and neither had a great chin, I think Patterson hit harder and had the faster hands and I'm leaning towards him to won this fight, I could see ezzard winning this with a check hook if he manages to time Patterson's leaping left like Mayweather did to Hatton, but the majority of the time Patterson's would lay down the hurt and stop Charles mid to late rounds.

Apologies if the deja vu is upsetting.

It's strange that I agree with the points made by both sides here, usually I lean one way or the other. This is just one of those matchups where the points made on either side of the argument are quite valid.

He offers a different sort of aggression to the great Marciano this should be obvious, his speed is the main factor coupled with all the above traits and I see this being rather quick myself Floyd’s biggest weakness is in no great danger if shocked and rocked he would recover as he did with greater punchers then Charles.
