    Charles by stoppage .
@ 175 , Charles was better than "Joey Maxim" , and he actually won it by stoppage .

Wasn't this fight at the table at some point and Robinson's response was "are you trying to get me killed" Robinson might as well get in the ring with Joe Louis or Marciano.

A fight at 160 between a not yet primed but already very dangerous Charles and Robinson would have been interesting. Best for best at 175 is obviously unfair.

I like Robinson's chances better against Charles at 160 obviously. I give him little chance at Light heavy against Charles. Charles by late KO

It's possible that Robinson could catch Ezzard in lukewarm form during a busy schedule to wrangle a decision, but that's more circumstantial.

The biggest problem Ray would have is that Charles would take him very seriously, which would mean Ezzard using his advantages and staging a very neat, assertive fight. With a conditioned body and cool head Robinson would have to come up with something very special indeed to take the Cobra off his game.

In all likelihood Robinson falls foul of the bigger man who could do just about everything he could, but in a more reserved manner.

Given their weights, its not fair to suppose any result to their matchup.
40's: Ray was a welter, Ezz a middle-light-heavy soon to move up.
50's: Ray grew to middle, and Ezz was now a HW.
Don't compare these ATG's. There was NO way the powers that be would have allowed them to fight in any scenerio.
