I can just imagine the future article - Ring Magazine's 80 Best Fourth Round Fighters of the Last 80 Years. 1. Ezzard Charles
Going off topic for a moment, I looked at the article on the 80 best fighters and aside from several holes in the fighters' bios I was suddenly most interested in the Harry Greb bio. According to this he held the welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight championships. Wow! I had no idea! Moreover, it's not Harry Greb in the pic. I love when a piece is well researched.
I have listen to the radio broadcast, I guess this is as close to the full fight I am ever going to get I guess. Yeah I seen the 5 rounds, but I always wanted to see the compete fight film lol. Base on the radio broadcast. Charles took the first 4 rounds. Marciano turn the tide in round 5, and pick up his punch output in rounds 6-9? Than he really swarm Charles in the last 4 or so rounds as we saw in round 15. It seem Marciano really pick up the pace in the later rounds, and started to "Build" up that punch out put if that makes sense.
Unable to post anymore due to a melancholic tristesse. Be with me beauty, for the fire is dying. My dog and I are old,too old for roving. Man who sets the spindrift flying is soon too old to march, too cold for loving.
