Yeah Holy looks just like Ezzard Charles. Charles looks like he could be Holyfield's father or grandfather.
I never thought of this because of the hair, but it's true! Anyhow i will pick Charles, i just think that he may employ the boxing tactics at times which will get him some extra points that will edge it for him, on the outside getting off fast shots he is better, but if they go at it which they will no doubt it;s some sight. Holyfield may be able to use a slight strength advantage there to his good, but i still think Charles would have some slight speed and skill edge, not massive however. Charles, maybe.
http://theboxingtribune.com/2016/01/01/historical-fight-night-evander-holyfield-vs-ezzard-charles/ This article pits the Holyfield of Qawi 2 vs the Charles who out boxed Louis. It has Charles winning a split decision in a 12 rounder.
Holyfield and Charles both were exceptionally all around skilled heavyweights. Charles had better defense and Holyfield slightly better combination punching, counterpunching is close but i would give a slight edge to Charles. Holyfield was more powerful and Charles a little bit faster. As for who would win, i would pick prime Holyfield by close UD or late stoppage. However, 2 of my all time favorites.
Charles may have beaten "cruiserweights" as good as the young Holy back in the mid-late 1940's. Considering same day weigh-ins back then, Charles beat Elmer Ray, Jimmy Bivins, and Archie Moore (the weight chameleon). Going with Charles by UD.
Charles by decision in a classic. Both excellent fighters full of heart .And I'm afraid to say both went on far to Long .
I tend to agree, Holy hung with the likes of , Bowe, Lewis, Tyson, seems to me Charles would hold no fears for Evander, I would expect a truly great fight, with ebbs and flow right up until the end, whether by late stoppage or points. stay safe buddy.
Whoever wins, I think it would be close and disputed amongst boxing fans. I tend to favour charles, mainly because I like his style more, but holyfield fought with urgency and a ton of heart and I don't think it's far fetched to see him taking this one either.
