Yeah, Davis was a quality operator, really let's it fly at times. Haven't seen his fight with Watt, how did that go? Taylor has the kinda' style where he'd always be stifled by a bit of movement, but as always it's great to see him do his thing. One of the fastest fighters I've ever seen at any weight, Gamboa reminds me of him.
I had it: Taylor 10 - 9 Davis Taylor 10 - 9 Davis Taylor 9 - 10 Davis Taylor 9 - 10 Davis Taylor 9 - 10 Davis Taylor 9 - 10 Davis Taylor 10 - 9 Davis Taylor 9 - 10 Davis Taylor 10 - 9 Davis Taylor 10 - 9 Davis 95-95 I think in the thread a few of us had the exact same card. Good fight.
Watt won close but clear, he was a dirty bugger though!! Davis just didn't have enough meat on his punches or "devil" in his work to be a world champ. Davis-Taylor was a strange fight because Taylor was considered a bit green and Davis was considered over the hill. "Pick 'em!".
As I say, if I'd gone with Davis having the 3rd I'd have had it a draw as well. Kinda' fight where Taylor would be gettin' massacred on the forum for a week after ;-)
Was he that flat in the 2nd fight though Greg? Am I not wrong in thinking that he shed some ring rust in their first meeting? Besides, Charles isn't going to bum rush Tunney and catch him like that. I think Tunney had a very good beard myself.
