Formen struggled with lighter guys, like ex light heavyweight Greg Peralta, why would he beat Charles so easy?
Peralta hadn't been a lhvy for 6 years he scaled 196 and 194 for those Foreman fights, both of which Foreman won clearly.
I believe we are talking the best foreman not the Peralta Foreman. Best Foreman kos both Peralta and Charles. IMO only Ali, Holmes, Louis, of the modern hwts would beat prime Foreman. Although as with any huge puncher a tricky boxer could on any given night give George trouble. Issue I see is Foreman was so quick off the blocks throwing every blow with murderous intentions.....can any fighter aside from the elite of the elite get through those first 5 rounds. Foremans punches were wrecking balls. He would pound a 300 pound heavy bag and shake the rafters with every blow.
This was Foreman's 17th fight. Peralta's 90th Struggle? Peralta was a defensive specialist ,only stopped 3 times in over 100 fights. The only heavyweight to stop him was George. Peralta opened a small cut over Foreman's right eye in the fifth round. The decision did not sit well with the crowd, who booed the decision and cheered Peralta as he left the ring. A ringside poll of the press had it lopsided for Foreman.
Ezzard is an all time pound for pound great, but he couldn't avoid a clumsy short Marciano at heavyweight. Simply not a fair matchup, George kills him
Charles is way too small, different weight classes by today's standards, if it were to happen, Foreman KO
Avoiding Foreman's shots, would be a hell of a lot easier than avoiding Marciano's. They are coming from further away for a start!
Jan- I have Ezzard boxing George silly. I think people are underestimating just how superior of a boxer Ezzard is.
