    1. Decent but unspectacular round. Charles' speed is proves more effective than Louis' power. Charles.
    2. More punching than there was previously. Louis does land a surprisingly quick left-right combo. Both mixed it up enough to make for a decent round; Louis even landing some telling left hooks. Louis.
    3. Fair amount of exchanging. Charles' speed edges it. Charles.
    4. Louis.
    5. Charles lands two straight rights and a left hook inside. Good exchange right before the bell. Charles' left eye is beginning to close. Charles.
    6. Louis begins to develop a mouse on the left eye. Both traded blows near the end. Charles.
    7. Charles beginning aggressively, targeting the right eye with several good right hands. Charles.
    8. Slow and uneventful. Even,
    9. Louis landed two good straight rights and one good left hook, as well as a fine left uppercut. Even.
    10. Charles beginning faster than he has so far and scoring with a lot of quick combinations. Louis comes on with some powerful blows late. A pretty good round. Even.
11-12. Both terribly uneventful. 11 was even and 12 belonged to Charles.
    13. more inside work, which suits Joe. Louis.
    14. Louis was shook up by a right uppercut. It was actually no more potent of a blow than Charles had landed many times earlier in the match, but it's like it finally had an effect on Joe. It appeared to sting Joe's eyes when the uppercut landed. He squinted a lot afterwards. Joe strikes with a right on the bell, and Charles responds with a left right after. Charles.
    15. Rather than doing the characteristic defensive run that is done by boxers in a final round, done to save the fight by not throwing it away, going toe-to-toe, Charles chose not to shy away, and wrapped the fight up pretty well. Charles.

Final score: 8-3-4. Not far off from the official scores of the judges on the fight. However, my score awarded Charles the lowest number of rounds, although gave Joe no more.

    A few notes:
Louis definitely had a cist or something of that kind on his left shoulder.

I detest the commentary. I do like the commentator in general, but he has a very favorable view of the fight and says as it comes to an end that it was an excellent fight. Total crap, it's hilarious . It wasn't even a pretty good fight. At best it was tolerable.

Verdict: A decent fight considering how far over the hill Joe was. It was not a good Charles performance either. I'm not questioning Charles though. I think he was holding back, throwing with less speed and power than I know he had. I would not suggest watching the fight. Who wants to watch a prime ATG carry yet still beat up a past-it ATG? Not at all fun imo.

William Walkers analysis of Hagler vs Hearns:

    1. Pretty so-so action. Hagler landed a few and Hearns returned with some punches. Not exactly what I would call entertaining, but some good leather thrown nonetheless. Hagler.
    2. Pretty much the same as the first round. Hearns landed a few decent jabs, I will say that. Hagler.
    3. Hagler clipped Hearns and put him away. Some decent head movement by Hagler.

Verdict: If you’re looking for something entertaining, I’d recommend watching paint dry.

I had Charles winning 10-4-1, winning 1,3,6,8,9,11,12,13,14,15, round 2 EVEN, and had Louis winning 4,5,7,10.

Louis looked slow and like he didn't want to be there. Charles looked tentative through the first part of the fight, like he thought it was too easy and that Louis might be setting a trap, then when he saw that Louis wasn't "sandbagging" and just didn't have much left, he (Charles) dominated the last 5 rounds of the fight. Guessing that Louis was on a "forced" comeback to pay taxes? He didn't look like a fighter who was enthusiastic about fighting, he looked like he would have rather been somewhere else.

The announcer sounded like he was trying to make the fight more interesting than it was, but it probably was exciting at the time because he probably thought that Louis would eventually score the knockout.

Which is really saying something. We thought prime Louis was unenthusiastic.

WTF was that growth on Louis' shoulder? Looked like he was growing a head.

Good question. It's tough to say. Charles was very sticky to deal with, but Louis was the bigger puncher obviously, but still with some boxing ability. One thing that works against Charles is his chin. It was alright, but I don't think it could stand up under Joe's power if Joe landed cleanly enough. Very close pick either way. Since I am indecisive, let's say they fight twice, Charles winning once by decision and Louis by late knockout.

Joe deceloped that weird growth/cyst on his shoulder post war.
His dictor said it posed no danger so he didnt deal with it anyway.
It s just one of those things that happen.
