A sad sight to see as a washed up Charles falls victim to a late round comeback knockout against an inspired "Big" John Holman.

Holman's trainer Angelo Dundee talks about how he was able to make Holman do it:

Goes to show you that you can't ever underestimate a puncher. Charles was taking chances, for example with the 6 left hooks he threw in succession at 6:40, and ended up getting nailed.

Holman to his credit had big wins over the likes of Ezzard Charles, Turkey Thompson, Elmer Ray, Bob Satterfield, Oakland Billy Smith and Cesar Brion. He wasn't much of a boxer but he could punch. See the brutal right hand at 8:25.

..ah yes...i saw that one on tv and it broke my heart...ezz was doing okay fighting inside but when he stepped back and gave holman room he got clocked. i suppose we should note here that in their rematch ezzard won....strictly by staying inside....he was still a good infighter....but the decline continued...sadly...in his abilities and his finances and eventually his health.
