Ezzard Charles vs. Sonny Liston

You know, I just realized this thread was the same as posting: George Crowcroft vs. swagfaldeel.

in the book by william detloff ezzard charles sparred sonny liston (mind you ezzard was on the decline or past prime ) and thought he was nothing special , so I got ezzard by dominant decision or dominating the fight til he stops him.

 

I think Ezzard schools him.

 

Liston by KO. That big jab along with his overall strength. He would wear Charles down. Ezzard would have some moments but the exchanges would likely take a toll on him. Sonny could set up his power shots behind his boxing skills.

Lot of bumped threads from a couple years ago have popped up where nearly everyone in them is banned. Didn't realize how many people were gone.

 

To be fair to Liston, Liston was still relatively green at that point.

 

I have to say, give me Liston here. But, Machen was able to go the distance with Liston and so was Bert Whitehurst. Charles could do everything those 2 could do and better. While I favor Liston, Charles might be able to make it to the end and make a closer fight than many imagine.
