Ugh, ordinarily this would be annoying but six minute waits for the judges' scores to be tallied have been normalized on this card...

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Expected one or two surprises here as usual (prob the chinese had a solid chance) but Diaz was a lock for me. Credits to Santana.

Diaz is one of my favorite fighters but he looked really bad overall.

    Santana beats Solomon?
    van Heerden beats Lawson?

Santana vs. van Heerden goes to an eleventh round and Santana nicks it by SD?

...or does somebody get injured and pave the way for Lubkovich?

I picked Diaz to win, but damn... aside from Ali beating Cotto, this is one of the more satisfying times I've been wrong lately. Big fan of Santana's, this is a really awesome upset.

I was probably a bigger fan of Díaz but yeah, can't be anything but happy for Santana. He came in with his usual professional attitude, fitness and determination and the correct game plan and knocked it outta the park.

Aside from my proxy bashing of Crawford, I'm a huge fan of Diaz as well, but I tend to lean towards fighters with the bigger hearts, and Diaz at times is far too detached and passive when he's in there, but... win or lose, Chia always tries his heart out, and brings it from start to finish, which always means a little more to me.

Alright, so, post-mortem...now that all the duat has settled, there are some juicy possibilities in sight for the van Heerden vs. Santana & Solomon vs. Lawson undercard this summer. Lubkovich gets to fight a quarterfinal loser, remember? :deal:

Lubkovich vs. Nasiyiwula/Díaz/Gallagher/Kryeziu all sound fun to me.
