Roger looks like Jorge Linares. A lot like Jorge Linares.

    Round 1 Alvarado 10-9

Dull compared to the first, Rene following him around, picking his shots. Rene lands a hook late that rocks him, Roger fires back a combo that hurts Rene, they start trading for the last 10 seconds.

Alvarado still owes the criminally underrated Shafikov a rematch a gift for the gift he received in their fight.

    Alvarado-Gutierrez
    9 : 10

I like the pressure from Alvarado here. Eating a few jabs here and there, but landing some nice shots. War at the end, where Gutierrez cake off better and took the round IMO. Good opener from the fighters but a pitifully dreaful showing from the commentary team.

    Round 1

Gutiérrez (taller man, in the purple) is circling wide, counter-clockwise, attempting to maneuver himself into sweeping hook range, but the champ (bedecked in the colors of Nicaragua's flag) is pestering him with dives inside, his neck about level with Gutiérrez's waist, firing torpedoes on the body. Some jabs transmitted in both directions, Gutiérrez finding the distance to score them effectively but finding that Alvarado is quick to rush in past them and land his own heavy overhand rights. Alvarado hurt by a fadeaway right cross as Gutiérrez steps back! Alvarado rallies and jumps on him, slugging with a sandbag right on the side of the jaw! Both staggered in the final twenty seconds.

    10-9 Alvarado, close

HBO was an experience. It made boxing a high class event. Dazn's commentary annoys me for some reason, like listening to a group of Suburban teenagers calling a fight.

Alvarado doesn´t really let his hands go unless he leans heavily on that front leg.
    And Gutierrez is timing that.
Alvarado with some nice counters there.

    Round 1 Alvarado 10-9
    Round 2 Alvarado 10-9

Both men fighting intelligently, not going all out, Roger looking to land the perfect counter, Rene leaping in and landing enough hooks to nick it.
