Lennox Tyson (early to mid 90s version) 90s Foreman Wlad Vitali David Haye And John Ruiz How does the Cubano fare against these guys?
If they fought according to the rules of amateur boxing, Félix Savón would beat them all. This content is protected Felix Savon Vs. titanium chin David Tua
It's hard to tell because amateur success doesn't necessarily translate to having success in the professional ranks. For example another Cuban in Jorge Luis Gonzalez had a very successful amateur career and went 220-13 with wins over Biggs, Lewis, Bowe, but his style didn't translate well to the professional ranks. Also i'm not the most knowledgeable on Savon but i heard he was stopped numerous times as an amateur atleast maybe half a dozen times ? maybe more ? So the question is would he have the chin to compete in the professional ranks ? Savon did have a very potent right hand that would've served him well in the professional ranks. But like i said it's really just guess work on how much success Savon would've had. My guess would be maybe a top 10 contender anything else is just as i said guess work.
Very good point. Tua certainly had more of a style better suited for the pro's. With that said, Savon was a beast of an outside fighter but he could be hurt. I think he would have had an excellent career had he gone pro but I'm not convinced he beats Lewis. I think he beats Tua regardless of age but Tua was very green in their match.
