Félix Trinidad Post Fight Interview after Hopkins fight (HQ)

Good interview although i find it rather odd that he says he wasn't hurt by the knockdown or that the fight was even remotely close.
Shows how poorly aware most fighters are on how they do.

 

Why does Hopkins always feel the need to lecture someone after beating them lol? He did that to Pavlik too. I noticed that the commentators said that Trinidad keep asking was he winning during the fight. If you need to keep asking if you're winning then clearly you're doing that in order to boost your esteem and hope that your trainers will try to cheer you up. Great fight though it was partly painful to watch for me as I'm a fan of both. I'm glad he apologized for throwing the flag on the ground, I'm not even puerto rican but that aggravated me when he did that.

Keep in mind up to this point Trinidad was an undefeated wrecking ball. Hard pill to swallow for a proud guy with a nation behind him. Denial is always easier, at least at first.

 

Except against fighters his own size.

Well, he did fight Tarver, Pavlik, Taylor and even Echols who are about his size. Don't you think?

 

he didnt beat taylor and he wanted the fight with Pavlik at 170, which Pavlik never fought at the time, so Pavlik, used to MW at the time, was the smaller man to Hops, who had come used to the weight since Tarver.

He gets all credit for Tarver though, who was a bigger man and he made him look like a amateur

Pavlik has struggled to get to the 160 limit for ages, if anything his natural weight would be about 168.

 

They should've asked him about how he felt after Hops exposed his ass for using illegal handwraps.
