I'd pay money to have the little guys spar against the bigger welters so nobody gets seriously hurt. If the bigger guys want to wear head gear against the little guys, its up to them. Then we'll see who can 'outbox' who. settle all these dumb f*ck threads about inches and pounds.
I think cos of weight classes people trained their mind to think that it really isnt possible to have a fight with weight differences. However look back in history of every single fight where weight difference were allowed to take place, sometimes the smaller guys wins. You had guys coming up from LW to beat up on HW's, in HW where there is no weight limit you have 220lb guys beating up 320lb guys. Had there been a limit in HW separated by 20lb each we would all be saying how the 220lb guy has no chance as they are separated by 5 weight divisions. When UFC first started there was no weight limit, the best fighter on the planet was 150lb taking out 400lb guys. Of course as everyone even out in skill weight became alot more of an issue and it really is, but I would bet alot of the WW, FW would beat up on some of the top guys on higher weights without moving up.
