No agenda here....remember you brought up Racism into that other thread not I. So you tell me who has the agenda.
So I just bought up RACISM OUT OF NO-WHERE in a conversation with a poster who has been accusing me a being RACIST for 2 Years. :-(
People don't realise Calzaghe wasn't always a star or a lucrative option for the bigger names like Jones or Hopkins. You look at a guy like Martinez today and he's only now getting the big fights at 34/35. You don't see anyone saying he has a career full of bums, and they appreciate him for what he is doing now. Every fighter should be treated like this. And to hold it against Calzaghe for not going up in weight to challenge himself, you'd have to do the same with Hopkins, who only moved up in his 40s. Sure he beat name fighters in his middleweight reign, but they were all moving up in weight to fight him and they weren't near as big a challenge as Calzaghe or a Roy Jones rematch. I wish all fighters were dealt with equally with resumes and legacy, and every fighter's achievements appreciated.
You know...I have Tried. Time & Time again for almost two years to find/reach some common ground and attempt to squash our differences, But as usaul...you come with the same ****!!! ACCUSATIONS BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS AND PERCEPTIONS. And expecting me to go above and beyond the call of duty to explain and go into great detail of why I like certain fighters. WHO THE **** DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO DEMAND TO KNOW WHY I LIKE CERTAIN FIGHTERS. Do you know how arrogant someone needs to be and the size of someone's ego to think someone NEEDS TO EXPLAIN TO THEM (someone they don't even know or met) who, what and why they like certain fighters. If I wanna like a southpaw gay one-eyed midget from Tijuana....then I should be very-well within my right to do so....and don't need to explain it to no-one. but if I do happen to have the urge to give an explaination....then it should be good enough and there should be NO NEED to keep asking until they get the answer THEY WANT TO HEAR. So with that being said....I AM SO DONE TRYING AND ATTEMPTING TO HAVE SOME KIND OF REASONABLE CONVERSATION WITH YOU!!! God Bless and **** OFF!!!!
I think I may have commented on this post in the past, but I'll say it again....I agree with everything that's written here. Hatton and Woods may not have been as talented as Calzaghe, but they damn sure deserve more respect than him.
You mean someone actually read this thread and was totally able to fully COMPREHEND what the **** I was saying without tryin' to turn it into something completely different. There is Hope for ESB afterall!!!!
Dont try to act like you been taking the high road through out all this. Whenever I address the matter you come off as very defensive and have made personal insults at me everytime when I havent done either to you. You still havent answered the question and avoiding it by trying to turn the topic onto me. and you are a straight up liar. I havent accused you of anything for 2 years. Do like writing up lies in your articles as well? :-(
But, dude, Martinez is some what of a late-bloomer. He spent large parts of his early career fighting in little-known venues in Argentina, Spain, US, and even in the UK. He wasn't even that well regarded by his own country. He only jumped to that elite level in recent years because he finally got his chance to (Cintron and Williams), and since then, he's been fighting the best available and beating them in style. He's at the top of his game now, and is willing to fight anyone, anywhere. Joe, on the other hand, was a world-champion for a very long time, being content with staying in the UK fighting not-so-great opposition. He had the opportunities to go to the US and make a name for himself, but he showed little desire to do so until the absolute end of his career. The two are incomparable.
Winky dropped the pen after Calzaghe agreed to fight the bloke in St Pete's Florida back in 2006 , Winky then chose to give his old buddy Ike a pay day in the Dec of that year if i recall correctly .That is all .
