*Yawn* Lost to Jones, beat a washed up fat Winky on points (just!!), lost to Taylor twice, beat a 1 dimensional Pavlik whilst his biggest wins are against guys smaller than him - Tito and DLH - both of whom quiet frankly Calzaghe would own.

Oh and Calzaghe beat him too.

    Hopkins fans :silly

(Oh and When Kessler beats Taylor in the super 6 its only going to further embarass Hopkins. So keep praying Hop fans!)

Hopkins was near enougth performing at his prime when he fought Calzaghe let's not forget that he had Spanked Trinidad , Beat Winky ( Yeah he did ) Spanked Tarver right before the Calzaghe fight and since being Beat FAIR AND SQUARE by Calzaghe has Spanked Pavlik everyone go's on like Hopkins was faded BOLLEX truth is he give Calzaghe one of the closest fights of his carear and only just come up short but he did come up short , Jones Jnr on the other hand was faded when Calzaghe fought him and it showed after the 1st round as he got spanked do i think that whould have happened to Jones 10 years earlier NO CHANCE do i think Calzaghe still could have beat Jones YEAH but it really whould have been a 50 - 50 fight .

Bottom line is Calzaghe is one of the best fighters of are ere YES could he have fought a few more fights against top guys like Pavlik,Dawson,Tarver,Winky,Taylor,Froach,Hopkins(Rematch) to really cement his claim to being one of the best of recent times sure but he wanted to call it a day and start promoting

We were robbed of the opportunity to find out if Calzaghe would OWN the really good fighters at 168lb from 1997 to his retirement.

Would have love to have seen Calzaghe vs. Tarver, Glen Johnson, Winky Wright, Allan Green, Carl Froch, Authur Abraham, Montell Griffin...etc.

But I guess Calzaghe thought Karbary Salem, Tocker Pudwill and Peter Manfredy Jr. were the better options.

Bottom line 2 names on Calzaghes record - Hopkins and Jones...both lost against him. Live with it. Its happend. Its fact. You can play games in your head and say "yeah but back in their prime they would've beat him" but reality is thats fantasy. It never happend. When they did meet they lost to him. Calzaghe gets little respect on here by many simply because he's not from the USA. If he were - he'd be a legend. Sour grapes its called.

The revealing problem is that whenever people say this and then make a list they trip themselves up. You've made a list of 7 opponents that apparantly you consider the elite at 168 during the 11 year period. Of those seven, four of them did not have one single fight in the division you specify during the time period you specify :patsch. Winky Wright? Career light middleweight. Abraham? Still yet to fight as a fully fledged SMW. Tarver and Griffin were at LHW throughout the whole period (which doesn't make the fights unmakeable, though Griffin lost every single time he fought a world title fight or eliminator during that time). Of the other names you mention, Glen Johnson's record at 168 was 5-6 (and the five guys he beat had 59 defeats on their records between them). Carl Froch best wins at the time Calzaghe retired were Brian Magee, Sergei Tatoyosan and a shot to bits Robin Reid. Allan Green? Seriously? This is the best you can come up with?

Well I was going to say those TOP-SHELF ELITE-LEVEL fighters like TOCKER PUDWILL, KABARY SALEM AND PETER MANDFREDY JR. But Calzaghe fought those A+ Fighters. WOW those guy are AMAZING fighters.

Because guys like Clinton Woods, Chad dawson, Montell Grifiin, Glen Johnson, Virgil Hill were NO MATCH for the Prince of Wales.

And All of his fans go on & on about his victory of Jeff Lacy. Lacy never lived up to his HYPE...But at Least Lacy tested himself in his 21st Pro Fight against Europes Best.

Imagine If Calzaghe came to the US Before his 21st Pro fight and fought the BEST in the US....Instead Building his INFLATED record against the Babary Salems of the world.

Example: Andre Direll and Andre Ward are participated in the SUPER 6 and both fighters don't have 20 Pro fights.

    US FIGHTER TEST THEMSELVES!!!!!

Just for a second....Imagine Jones vs. Calzaghe in 1998 WOW!!!

Anyone who thinks they're important is usually just a pompous moron who can't deal with his or her own pathetic insignificance and the fact that what they do is meaningless and inconsequential...

you value your own opinion far to much darryl my good fellow...

darryl is like a bad comic working the crowd, a 'moron', if you'll pardon the expression!

you need to face the fact that calzaghe was and always will be jones's superior,he spent a decade (from beating the fat meatball james toney) fighting refuse collectors and montell griffin (he was beaten by rico hoye) his only solid win was clinton ' oh **** not america again' woods, and dont give me fatass john ruiz,as soon as he stepped it up he got starched by the omar sheika castoff glenn johnson and apollo creed, say what you want about calzaghe but he would never have lost to them 2

what a joke, jones avoided the best 2 fighters at smw and lhw end of!
