well, i really won't assign blame b/c i just don't know what goes on behind closed doors. but i will say that it is almost surreal that this fight may not come off b/c of a drug testing dispute. i have a hard time wrapping my head around it. one of the biggest fights ever and certainly the biggest money maker ever is in doubt over ****ing drug testing. not venue, or money, or injuries or ring size or gloves or referees or judges...****ing drug testing. amazing...

 @ you taking a shot at tebow. being from florida you either love him or really really hate him. but i will tell you this...alex smith, jamarcus russell, maybe even matt stafford...all number one picks and tebow will be better than them in the nfl and he won't go until 2rd at the earliest.

Yeah...there is got to be a way settle this "snag" in negotiations.

As for Alex Smith, Russell and Stafford...Stafford is actually in a good situation. Alex Smith was doing VERY Well about two season ago...and injuries slowed his progress...And now that he has some "real" weapons (Crabtree, that big-ass TE, I can't remember his name)...As for Russell...he is just in a GOD AWFUL situation. Three years, 3 different coordinators, fued between coach and owner, fights between coaches...GOD AWFUL!!!

it seems so simple...a freaking drug test...what's the problem guys???

actually, you are right, smith and stafford have some weapons around them. that TE is vernon davis i believe and he is a freak of nature. and the raiders have such a mess out there as well. i feel for the kid. it is so hard to rate qbs now.

Seeing as its pacquiao who has given the sport a new lease of life recently. We are in no position to blame him. If anyone Floyd deserves the blame for his demands.

But I agree it is boxing which will suffer

you're the one who doesn't get it, brother.

Floyd has never had any intention of fighting Pac...this is obvious to anyone who truly knows boxing and has no vested interest in this fight.

Let me put this in the perspective of another sport that you probably don't watch...i don't like to assume, but i don't care enough in this scenario. This is just to give you an idea of how ridiculous this is.

Breaking News: Roger Federer has just issued a statement that the Wimbledon Finals match between Federer and Nadal will be cancelled if nadal isn't forced to undergo Olympic Style Drug Testing. Federer claims, "There is no way he should be beating men this easily...there has to be something wrong here." Federer has no proof or evidence that this is true...simply a hunch. Furthermore, Nadal takes drug tests before and after every match and has never failed once.

Isn't that ridiculous? Wouldn't any normal person who doesn't have a vested interest in the match think that Federer is a coward?

That would be an excellent analogy...were the size of the court, the equipment used, the whereabouts of the venue, the weight of the competitors and the identities of the officials open to negotiation too.

But they aren't so it isn't.

Oh please, the fight is @ 147. Roach originally wanted a catchweight, remember? Also, the identities of the officials? Where has it been stated pacquiao demanded certain judges or refs? The fight has been split 50-50 and arguably Pac has been the bigger draw and name of late. The only things which swung in Manny's favor were the size of the gloves and the ring, and Manny never stated the fight was CONTINGENT and hinged on those factors.

Plain and simple.....If random blood testing isnt implemented by the NSAC, then there should be no reason why Pac should have to follow a procedure "made up" by the Mayweathers. Fuk that.

Typical forum response...bringing up irrelevant issues to avoid seeing the truth.

All of the issues you brought up were settled by all parties involved, so it is an accurate analogy. The variables mentioned are "given".

The point was...lots of stuff is negotiable in boxing whereas no stuff is negotiable in tennis.

Personally, given Pac got his own way with the gloves and ring, I reckon the least he could do is show a bit of give and take over the tests, A thimbleful of blood two days before a fight is hardly worth moaning about at all.

so what the **** do you expect pacman to do? he makes a very reasonable offer, changing the boxing rules by doing extra tests and floyd rejects it

only one person is stopping this fight from happening and that is the mayweather camp

pacman has agreed to fight, floyd had until today to accept or reject the fight.

if he is scared then dont blame pacman, what do you expect pacman to do?

kidnap mayweather and force him to fight? if the guy doesnt want to fight then just accept it, there is a reason he is afraid
