well considering he won his first what 43 fights through that part of the argument out the window. and after coming off of his loss in his 44th fight he won 8, then 9 in a row, he did win 7 in a row but other than erik morales who was a notable win??? rocky juarez who just lost two Humberto Soto. robbie peden?? paulie ayala?? lulz
You can **** on Cotto all you want, but the truth of the matter is that Mosley is actually the one that gets hit the most out of that bunch. The only difference is that he's faster and has a great chin. Cotto's skillset is much better though and Berto is far too green for Pac...but that would be an interesting matchup :think
Why downgrade his opponent. Rocky at that time was hot. If i remember correctly MAB was his first loss and it was controversial. Humberto, Guzman is not yet on the scene that time. That Peden is the same guy who KO'ed Campbell who a lot here seems to respect and was "ducked" by Pac. Pauli might have seen better days but still a good win. People seem to judge in hindsight when at the time the bout was made these fighters were considered good or the contenders of that division.
YOU have to make up your mind! DID he win those fights because he was a juiced up animal or because he was cherry picking? What other possible explanation exists besides the fact that he took risk and won most of the time. I say MOST because he took risks with Morales (who beat him) and Marquez (who forced the distance twice). P.S. the following statement is ridiculous This content is protected
TS makes a good point. It IS the truth. But the truth about Pacquiao is not any different from any other fighter out there. The truth applies to every fighter in boxing. No boxer in the modern era will ever, ever get to fight the best boxer available, at the very peak of their careers, undefeated perhaps, all the time. It just doesn't happen anymore.
no rocky's first loss was to humberto soto. it set him back cause after this fight he was supposed to fight MAB. after soto beat him he had decent performances against nobody fighters. his most notable win after the loss to soto was a dude from columbia i think his name was Hurtado? if it was that guy, which im pretty sure it was, he has a eh record and was coming off of 4 straight losses maybe five. look it up. like i said maybe manny was that GREAT to beat these fighters but so far he has beaten hand picked fighters, freddy roach has been quoting saying this against hatton and cotto. all i know is if he beats mayweather those arguments are thrown out the window.
Pac / DLH Pac / Cotto Pac / Hatton were all considered very high risk fights for Pac. you certainly thought so, here you are in your thread you made yourself before the fight entitled Here is what you wrote: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170767
It's not Team Mayweather, but according to ESPN.com's Dan Rafael (sometimes an idiot, but a source nonetheless) wrote that if the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight does not happen, Pac could face Foreman and Mayweather could face Malignaggi. Here is the link, check at the bottom of the article, last two paragraphs. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4794912
Your right...I didn't think Cotto would fold like a cheap card table. I knew (as i said in the previous thread) that Pac's HURRICANE of punches in the early rounds could be a major problem. As i also mentioned in the previous thread...Cotto's poor defense, and lack of stamina would be a big concern...But I noticed you didn't mentioned that!!! In any event...it ended like I said...Pac's Early round BLIZZARD of punches...Cotto never recovered.
I see where you are coming from but Hatton was the number 1 in his division prior to Pacman. Cotto had already beaten Mosley, and Berto wouldnt have been deemed ready to fight him.
it ended in a wide pac decision, you wrote that cotto would take over if he could withstand pac's early surge how is that endling "like you said" when cotto had no surge at all but looked like a deer in the headlights also, in numerous threads you stated that Cotto / Mayweather would be a much more competitive fight than Pac / Mayweather because you think Mayweather easily beats Pac, therefore, you must admit that you personally think that Cotto would give Mayweather a much, much tougher fight than he gave to Pacquiao this you must admit it if doesn't fit you must acquit
