Good performance by both Fighters, Pavlik was building a lead before he got cut,But martinez simply took over, great performance by him,He simply outboxed Pavlik Pavlik stated there will be a rematch, due to the rematch clause,Im Lookin forward to that I predict Kelly would stop Martinez late,But Sergio proved me wrong and earned even more respect from me Congratulations to Sergio Martinez ,He deserves it
The man loses twice, and it's the end. He's hasn't ever been KOed for that matter. Lighten up. Considering who's at 168, he'll do fine. However, Ward would cream him. Bute's power and comes forward. I could see him beating Lucian, yet at the same time see Lucian beating Ward. Weird how boxing works.
I think he is done, and at 168, a KO waiting to happen....You imagine if dirrell or ward got wind of pavlik:admin.....Bute:admin He could beat froch or kessler
Love how people are now out of the woodwork for saying I had Taylor winning the 2nd fight. I was posting then and few people said that then. Hell, more pundit either called it 7 to 5 for Pavlik or a draw. Round 11 and 12 kept Pavlik undefeated that night (yeah, Taylor gassed after that body shot).
Not sure though only 2 losses to great fighters... He fight his heart out tonight unfortunately maravilla is hungrier for d win
You could see Pavlik beating Bute? I know boxing is mostly a "what have you done for me lately" sport, but that has nothing to do with this matchup. It would be a tough, tough fight for Kelly to win at this point.
if richard steele wouldnt have stopped the fight with 2 seconds left, chavez wouldnt be chavez.... if tyson wouldnt have ****ed 47 Japanese women in Tokyo and instead trained, then he wouldnt have lost if my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle STFU you moron
I think what pavlik said at the end was right. he got cut and couldnt see in the last few rounds. and credit to sergio for stepping up and finishing the fight in style. If pavlik can keep from getting cut in a rematch i give him a chance at winning but not a great one.
idk IMO has pavlik really been the same since the second JT fight??? he looked ehhh in that one rewatch it
Yeah, I can see it because Lucian is not the speedy slickster it takes to beat Pavlik. That's why. It would be a brutal fight that one man ends up KOed. Pavlik handles a knockdown a hell of a lot better than Lucian Bute. I'm not going to argue the long count thing, but when he is hurt, is he ever hurt. Andrade would have been champ or a spell had this been pre-Mancini/Kim with three more rounds to seal the deal on Bute.
there sure are a lot of fans that are on the bandwagon of a fighter when hes doing good but then jump off when he does bad telling everybody that they knew he was flawed all along. WTF
Very unfair thread, Pavlik had martinez worked out until the second cut opened up. Martinez did really well to capitalize on a clearly low on confidence pavlik.
