    Come on. You don't get to the top by being a lucky bum dude. Maybe if you hug your way to a title but not the way Pavlik did it.

    He has the natural ability to be a great. He just got too wound up in his own power and his personal woes. Right now he's being held back by his crew. That happens to the best of boxers and if he's smart he will find distance and find someone who can help him with much needed development.

    Anyone here would look just as uncoordinated if they were not trained properly. That is the point. At some point that becomes Pavlik's decision. If he continues, it is very unwise to carry on as though Martinez had a lucky night. He will probably beat Martinez in a rematch but without sound changes he will not be very competitive at the top.

    The one thing I notice right away when I see an ill-prepared boxer is how he sets up his work. A lazy bum will always look for the same setup in every exchange. He's just there to get lucky. Doesn't care about development. Doesn't care for putting the work in. Just there to collect a paycheck and just maybe get a home run.

    Bottom line is that too many people confuse talent with desire.
