The problem is that it's Mayweather demanding it. Can you imagine if Chelsea demanded Wayne Rooney face more drug testing? Or if an NFL team demanded Peyton Manning to be tested? It would be laughable.

In all sports, there is testing. Pacquiao is happy to go through whatever tests the ruling body asks him to do. In every other sport, that is enough.

The NFL has a union. There is no comparison between The NFL and boxing. The NFL has year round, random, testing as it is. Any additional testing would have to be in the guidelines set forth within the collective bargaining agreement. There is no union in boxing, there is no universal commission, there his no real health plan. The testing system done by many of these commissions are a joke. The fighters are putting their health on the line and no one is there to protect them except themselves. The rules allow for a fighter to request additional testing. Why is it so wrong for a fighter to take advantage of this?

Ya okay. And what would happen if the Baltimore Ravens demanded every team they play undergo mandatory, random, Olympic style drug testing??

We all know steroids are prevalent in the NFL. So what would be wrong with the Baltimore Ravens demanding testing of every team on their 16 game schedule?

I'm sure that would go over well...

The more in depth the testing the better for all sports. But presently there are drug testing measures in place. USADA is more in depth but there aren't ANY Tests out there that are 100%. If a fighter is gonna use and has the resources to obtain these drugs and masking agents there aren't any testing to prevent it. Which is why the demands of Floyd to face Manny was not well received by all.

The timing was just terrible if Floyd wanted to clean up the sport and didn't use the drug testing as a way to gain control of negotiations with manny. B/c at the time he didn't have any advantage....Now he does with his dominating win over Shane and the PPV numbers will support him getting what he wanted......More money and more control. I just hope the fight cna be made....BOTH need the fight in my opinion IF they want to have a complete career.

Your post demonstrates that steroid use has been going on in sports since before and throughout Floyd's career. Why then is he suddenly demanding drug tests from his opponents now?
