I mean we talk about Couture-Liddell IV being pointless this is even worse IMO. They fought 6 months ago and Faber won every single round some of them where even 10-8 rounds. This kinda reminds me of the Shamrock-Ortiz rematches there going to use this for a few thousand extra viewers come that night.
theyre killing MMA with these matches. Next we have the breathtaking third fight between Franklin and Silva
Yeah I have a feeling we are going to get some ugly things going on here soon we already got yet another Couture-Liddell fight coming on,Pulver-Faber 2 and hey no problem with rematches but with this one the fight was a total 25 minute shutout with the most lopsided scores ever just what was it June 1st ? **** that.
its the fact that they are going international..they have to rehash crap because the germans/italians know these guys. Their banking and "milking" their star power. I want Maia vs. Marquardt ..but Hans dont know these guys
That would be great they should make that for the number 1 contender IMO but I doubt it they seem to be trying force Bisping on us.
Pulver's just not fast enough anymore and his defense didn't look that great against Garcia AT ALL. Why aren't they matching him with some people to build him back up a bit? If he loses this one as bad as the last Faber fight (which he absolutely will) then he's basically done for good. The stupid thing is that if he happens to get a good shot in and stop Faber, then Faber looks worse for losing to a guy who just got KTFO. Dumb, dumb move all around.
Im not sure WTF the point is ? Obviously their is no score to settle in this fight im pretty sure theres no Ortiz-Shamrock grude either. This really wont do much for Fabers career IMO especially considering how bad Pulver looked by Garcia he got clipped his legs went to complete **** hes fighting like an old boxer now he closed the gap on Faber and had him backed up agianst the cage so many times and he could never pull the trigger it was sad. Then like you said if Jens can pull of a gigantic upset then it makes Faber look weak as hell.
as dumb as this fight is its a good fight for faber. comming off a big ko lose he needs confidence. pulver is a solid match and a fairly safe one for faber good to get him self back on track. horrible fight for fans or for rankings or for pulver. i dont want to see it but if its on ill watch it. its lame that they are forcing bisping i want to see him get killed by maia. im just getting pissed with the way the ufc decides title shots. question is joe silva the ufc match maker the same guy that dose the match making for the wec cause a fight like faber vs pulver 2 this soon or at all seems like something joe would come up with.
Im not totally sure but I do recall hearing like a year or so ago then Silva is also the WECs matchmaker.
Hey, Jens held his own...in a couple of rounds... All the same, THIS rematch gets made but not ****ing Diaz-Aina??????? :fire
This isn't the same as Liddell-Couture 4, this is to give Faber a legitimate test before he gets a rematch with Brown. How can anybody argue that Pulver isn't a completely worthy opponent after their first fight is beyond me.
^ its not that hes not worthy its just he lost his next fight badly and the first match was so lop sided that its not compelling. now had he beaten garcia and the first match was closer then it would be compelling. as of now it looks as if faber will dominate again. we will have to wait for see
Pulver is still a worthy opponet but what did he really accomplish in that fight ? I mean sure some of the rounds where competitive but can you make a case for him winning any of those 5 rounds ? Faber should be fighting another contender he hasnt already beat like Josh Grispi.
the wec is signing some exciting guys they have the likes of pacquino, tamura, fabriano, curren, brown, garcia, grisip, takaya, thats a great list and all top guys in the division faber has plenty of interesting match ups. they need to sign carvalho, lion takashi, hokoi, and wicky. the shooto fw are bad ass.
I'd rather see Faber-Brown II; Faber came in overconfident and made a tactical error in running right into Brown's fist (literally).
