    Round 3

Nasty head clash while both are swooping in simultaneously with sloppy underhanded body shot combos, neither paying attention to where he is going or heeding the imminent collision. Both are bleeding I think, Ayala perhaps a bit worse. This might get stopped and go to a No Contest. You won't hear me complaining. Good riddance to a bad style match-up.

edit: yes. This one's getting thrown out. Because it was basura.

Bahaha, the slow mo replay shows both guys were actually landing full-on low blows (of the "can't have possibly been accidental" variety, uppercuts landing on the underside of the gonads) right when they bumped heads.

Ayala is getting worked on by his cutman who can't seem to get coagulation underway, and Romero has an icepack on his own skull. These guys are in a lot of pain for having fought to a complete anticlimax with nothing to show for it (not even any genuinely enthused applause from the crowd, who mostly seem to be thumbs-upping and whistling encouragement that nobody was seriously hurt)

Well that was a mess, totally unworthy of In Bloom and I'm Broken.

Maidana and Vallejos better not ruin any great songs!:mad:

    Round 1

Zárate is prancing in on the southpaw, body turned in a classic 3-quarter stance. Zárate showing the high left jab and shooting the right down the middle. Delgado is parrying with his lefty 1-2 as best he can while quickly backpedaling. Zárate applying heavy pressure and displaying some foot speed, not giving Delgado much room to breathe or time for thinking. Zárate traps Delgado on the ropes and lands a huge body combo, punctuated by a left on the liver, twisting his far hip into the punch and leaving Delgado crumpled in pain on the mat, unable to answer the count.

    KO1!!!!!

That's some freakish power for 112lbs. He just liquidated homeboy's organs with a single rip.

    Upset! Chaparro TKO4!

JLC was just lurching himself bodily into Chapa, unable to retaliate or clinch, dog tired and with blood in his eyes, and started eating unanswered uppercuts. They staggered apart for a moment, the ref had a look at him, and just waved it off. Not a real punctuated finish but they saved the kid a lot of unnecessary punishment and he probably wasn't rallying from that.

Chapa entered with a 2-2-1 record, and was obviously supposed to lose to 6-0 (5) El Chino.

...various Argentine boxing luminaries being interviewed for their predictions and thoughts on the fight.

Diego Alberto Chaves, Brian Castaño, etc.

I didn't realize Fabián was already this big domestically. Sellout crowd (it appears, now that everybody has filled in during the undercard), headlining a national TV card, and with some moderately impressive celebs turning out.

Fabián is walking out to AC/DC's TNT, naturally.

Interesting. Vallejos gets to emerge second. Just double-checked, no titles at stake...wonder how Vallejos negotiated that bit of 'A-side' treatment.

    Round 1

Things build to a rapid boil as Maidana comes sallying in with stiff jabs, hooking off them while stepping forth with confidence. Vallejos tries meeting him in center ring but tastes some power and shifts into reverse. BIG hook doubled up downstairs and up by Maidana. Vallejos down, sent tumbling ass over tea-kettle! He beats the count and is now wary. Maidana beelines to him and starts teeing off with power shots with both hands. Vallejos gets a standing count just before the bell, and is saved by it.

    10-7 Maidana
