I caught most of round 3, it was mostly the Argentine nicknamed "TNT" bullying the Nicaraguan southpaw "El Destructor" with a jab.

TyC Sports commentators have it 30-27 on their unofficial scorecard for Chino's kid brother.

40-36 Maidana (just assuming the commentator's scoring is valid and these last two rounds were rinse & repeat of the firs two)

Mixing in some looping rights now, buzzing López but not following up with anything.

Halfway in, very clear shutout without Maidana leaving first gear.

    Round 6

Fab pawing out double jabs, daubing López's chest with them, and then burying straight right hands in the belt line. Much wiggling and leaning away from López, occasionally jumping in to dare a swatting right hook before clinching or ducking away rapidly. Maidana upping his body shot volume behind the jab, starting to maybe think about getting rid of López. A couple of rights meeting his tucked chin as well.

    60-54 Maidana

    Round 7

Maidana really crunching away downstairs now with slow but heavy & reverberating pendulum hooks, alternating with both fists. López taking a pounding, still moving laterally, parrying and weaving as much as possible. He ducks a telegraphed left hook and pokes Maidana in the navel with a southpaw jab. FAM playing with his food.

    10-9 Maidana

    70-63 Maidana

Maidana increasingly KO-minded the last couple of rounds - I'm not sure López can hang another three.

Commentators have it a 70-63 clean sweep for Maidana.

I, again, missed rounds 1 & 2 but can't imagine there's really any other scorecard possible here. López only surviving this long because he's boxing in a negative survivalist manner and Maidana is very lethargic and lackadaisical in his pressure (although less so in the 6th & 7th)

This is for the WBC Latino welterweight title, 2nd defense of Maidana.

31 year old Marcos (so, really just the worst/final version we saw of him, in the Mayweather rematch loss) would absolutely shred his lil hermano at the same age here to ribbons. It'd be carnage.

    Round 8

López is gamely sidestepping and pawing with weak right jabs, and maneuvering his fists to intercept the odd Maidana straight rights slamming in about eye level. Most of Maidana's cleanest work is on the body, set up by a lumpy high jab. Pace is back to what it was in the first five rounds. Snooze.

    80-72 Maidana

    Round 9

López actually feeling his oats here in the ninth, coming on aggressively, taking it to Maidana, perhaps sensing or hoping that he's tiring. Jab, jab, left from López, with the rear hand shot scything across the belly. Maidana shuffling away, not seemingly particularly concerned but also not standing his ground to assert himself.

Think that one might actually go the Nicaraguan's way! TNT just forked it over to him, barely throwing anything himself.

    10-9 López

    89-82 Maidana
