Fabio Turchi vs. Darío Germán Balmaceda, 12 rounds @ cruiserweight

 

The CEO of WBN is killing some time hyping up the match & giving some background info onscreen before they go live to Florence (he says it will be in time for the ring walks & introductions @ Nelson Mandela Forum)

 

Here we go, first bell! (they lied about ring walks)

 

Round 1

Turchi is shooting the right jab at the chest and head of Balmaceda. Turchi is snapping the jab hard, knocking Balmaceda's gloves back into his face. Every time Balmaceda starts to betray a telegraphed left jab, Turchi is quick to suppress it with his ramrod southpaw jab. Nary a rear hand thrown so far, just a fencing duel with the jab. Balmaceda tries a hook and Turchi ducks it smoothly, countering from a crouch with a glancing double-tap 1-2. Balmaceda down with half a minute left, on a sharp left cross to his nose following a couple of body shots that brought down the guard. Turchi backs him into the ropes, pecking at Balmaceda's chest with straight combos. Big right hook downstairs and then a straight left & right hook combo strapped across the face and Balmaceda is downed again. He gets up but walks away from the ref clutching his side and complaining of perhaps what he perceived to be a foul. The ref shrugs and waves it off.

KO1!!

 

Well that was a fun two minutes and change.

 

I didn't see any foul, not sure what Balmaceda was moaning about. I think he just wanted outta there.

 

Turchi* has improved to 14-0 (11), and he looks really nice.

*pronounced like "Tore-Key", not "turkey". (strong glottal-stop emphasis on first syllable)

 

This one had "be punctual" written all over it, bruh!
