Turchi extends the right jab, prodding Conquest in the sternum with it. Conquest is bobbing to his left, feinting with up-jabs while leaned over to one side. 1-2s by Turchi at mid-range, but nothing sensationally flush. Conquest starts coming on in the final minute, plugging some rights on the belt line and one square on the bottom of Turchi's jaw.

I agree actually. Black Metal culture is ******ed. So is much of Metal culture. It's still more authentic than white trash stuff that appeals to the same kind of people who like ICP.

Turchi is blocking the left jabs of Conquest with his vertically held right forearm. Counter jabs and 1-2s by Turchi, his timing just a beat off, firing just a half-second too late to clip his opponent pulling out. Conquest emboldened to step in and out with his jab. Turchi misses a heavy 1-2 up top and ends up draped over Conquest's back. Another miss, another sloppy folded-over clinch. A couple of uppercuts traded inside, then upon being separated by the ref Conquest lands a right hand simultaneously with Turchi landing a left.

Black Metal is more rooted in hardcore punk and D-Beat than anything else. And conceptually they take their ques from Venom more than anything else. Even when it's cringe at least it didn't start as a lamestream big label gimmick of Thrash Metal like Pantera did.

turchi probs gonna win this but getting hit waay 2 much.. any top 10 cw beats him maybe even top 15-20 not a very good undefeated prospect in my opinion

 

Phil was a very good song craftsman, and in his nick (before the rigors of his career did to his chords what Sasha Grey's probably did to her gash) a veritable ATG vocalist.

I also hardcore Stan the oft-forgotten member of the group, Rex Brown (an underrated bassist, and good producer on a few tracks for Crowbar & Down...)

As for the Abbott bros, though - eh. Never really cared for them (especially Vinnie). I respect Dime's talent, of course, but the pair of them were just a couple of Texan dorks who as late as their early twenties were still proud members of the Kiss Army. Gag me with a spoon. One a virtuoso guitarist, the other a serviceable drummer - on their own, without Phil, never would have become household names. When they formed their own group(s) - it was exactly the kind of white trash fake tough guy schlock that UTF is referring to. Damageplan, and whatever their other group was.
