I wouldn’t, better skilled than Allen my arse!

watch the highlights back of him vs Dubois, constantly trying to land that big looping over the top left hook and nothing else, no other game plan

Right, but in turn watch Allen against Price, Ortiz, Yoka, LENROY THOMAS etc. I don’t think skill wise the two of them are comparable at all. Allen has durability and not much else. He wouldn’t beat Kingpin.

People talk about Dave Allen’s chin. I don’t know how he does it, but his feet don’t really buckle on him when he gets chinned but he’s cognitively not there, his arms go down and ships a barrage of shots to the point that the ref saves him.

My point is, Dave Allen can be stopped, and has been stopped 3 times. Wardley is more than capable of stopping him even if he doesn’t floor him.

I have to say that Gorman is way ahead of Allen, by round 6 Allen would be finished.

I like the idea of the fight in the title, not sure who I'd back but I'm very bored of the Dave Allen show.

Gorman beats Allen comfortably, not because he’s a good fighter, but because Dave Allen is area title level

It was a horrendous performance by him against Dubois. But that isnt characteristic of his ability. Gorman is a skilled HW.

Did you see the way he went to town on Sean Turner and stopped him?. Hrgovic was unable to stop Sean Turner.

No way in hell does Allen beat Kingpin or Cojanu.

Allen's only strength is an insane chin.

I like Gorman but I think he is wayyyyy overrated on this forum. I do however think he would box rings around Dave Allen. Wardley may be a different proposition as I think he has some natural talent which needs to be nurtured.

In fact, I think if Wardley is put on the same regime Dubois has been, I think he would turn out to be a better boxer than Dubois.

Once Allen is past round 6 he's stopping nobody, he might hang in until the bloody end but he's not got enough in the tank to trouble a remotely decent fighter past 6 rounds.

Gorman was a deer in the headlights against DDD but other than that it's been a fairly steady career for him so far and he's gone up levels, Dubois was just too much but then he has been for every man he's shared a ring with.

If you going to comment, at least try to make an argument for your point. Else you just come across as ignorent.

You could be right. Although at 24, he still has a lot of time to make required improvements. He has fast hands and a good shot selection, which already puts him above someone like Allen. What we don't know enough about is chin, stamina, ability to adapt etc. Dubois trucked him but I want to give him the benefit for the doubt given it was his first big event, and Dubois would appear to be quite good.

I understand there are many questions about Wardley and he might not amount to much but he has some basic tools which can be worked on. Gorman also has some skills but he looked BAD against Dubois. He might however just have had stage fright as you allude to.

I like Gorman, for the reasons that @PaddyGarcia mentioned. His backside fell out against Dubois, the occasion was too much. He definitely has the skills to carve out a solid career but yet to see if he’s got the mindset to fulfil it.

The Dave Allen 'experiment' i.e. take an eccentric, somewhat unstable journeyman boxer with extremely limited ability who has a good social media following as far as he can go at any cost to his health and wellbeing has to be one of the strangest bi-products of what I call the 'AJ effect' in other words the currently increased general interest in boxing post 2016 when AJ won his first world title and became a superstar.

Wardley would beat Dave Allen fairly comfortable in my opinion- the fresher, fitter, more mobile fighter with more momentum going into the fight and A LOT less miles on the clock. Neither is a big puncher but I don't see Dave dealing with the movement and punch output over 12 rounds, he will take a beating, Fabio Wardley fairly wide UD for me. I don't think Dave Allen has many more fights in him either. A Dubois/Bakole/Joyce/Hrgovic would probably end his career after the Wardley fight.
