Fabio Wardley vs 37 year old Lennox Lewis

Lewis would stop Wardley before Wardley could rely on his punching power, Wardley is too unskilled to do anything...

 

The guy only had 44 total fights in his career. The extra weight was strategic which was confirmed by Emmanuel. Vitali fought way past 37 years old as well.

 

20 years including his amateur career along with 18 world title fights.

Lewis was visibly out of shape/sluggish being at a career high weight the worst shape he'd been in since Rahman 1.

Vitali fought past 37 with a 4 year lay off and considerably less dangerous opposition. It also helped Vitali was hardly ever in a tough fight he won most of his fights without losing a round.

 

Lewis gets off the coach tomorrow and knocks out Wardley.

 

Let's normalize not making moronically hyperbolic statements on boxing forums.

Any version of Lewis is favoured, but any version of Lewis could also be brutally chinned, as we have seen against another guy who started boxing in his 20s.

 

"LL pulls this off"...Another poor attempt at media manipulation by bull**** poll. The LL that stopped the superior Klitschko would beat Wardley to a pulp in 6. Unless Lennox decided to do lines and bang hookers the night before, maybe, but in the end it's the same.

 

Aside from Usyk, Lennox was the last truly ATG great HW, Wardley is still a contender. If Parker didn't get pulled into his gameplan and fight the wrong fight, and Huni didn't walk headfirst into a KO shot, he would have 2 losses to B-rate and C-rate fighters on his record. The uppercut that Lennox hit VK with would put Wardley in a coma. I'm not buying the idea that he has an iron chin when Clarke had him going a couple of times, and he's yet to face an actual world-level puncher.

 

Lewis struggled partly because Vitali was taller himself, and Lewis wasn’t used to that. He often looked a bit cumbersome when fighting taller opponents.

He likely wouldn’t struggle with Wardley at all even at that point.

 

Being hittable is a terrible gameplan against Lewis, one of the hardest hitters ever to lace em up. Lewis is also a much better boxer than Wardley.

 

Lennox... There's levels..

I like Wardley but he's out of his league here.

My statement, as anyone with a functioning brain cell could readily discern, was meant to reflect the yawning gap in talent and accomplishment between the two in a tongue-in- cheek way.

But even if I did believe Lewis could hop off the couch and knock Wardley out tomorrow, I'm under no obligation to abide by what you--some internet rando who's been a posting for 5 minutes-- deem are acceptable posting standards.

If Lewis, even at the end of his career physically and psychologically had enough to beat Vitali, then he has enough to beat Wardley.
