Ha! This was a good and responsible Conner stoppage. He had no chance of wining. No pop, nothing. Why should they let him be a punching bag and take an unnecessary beating

It maybe awhile before main event. They are still getting hands wrapped. Then need to warm up.

Dubois beats Wardley, and that ramrod jab is key.

Wardley takes a lot of jabs, but he can’t afford to do so against Dubois, and the power of that jab will really offset Wardley throughout the fight and make him struggle to set things up, as he has to show a lot of respect to it.

Dubois’ jab can drop him if he’s not careful, that’s how powerful it is, and Wardley doesn’t usually slip side to side to counter the jab, so he may be forced to retreat where he can’t get punches off as well.

    Dubois on points.

Dubois shouldn’t engage too much here, stick the ramrod jab on him and let the opportunities come, don’t trade with Wardley as he has a great chance at beating Dubois to the punch in the trades due to greater speed and unconventional trajectory, and he can’t afford to get clipped clean.

At least give him a stern warning to show them something. He wasn't in danger of getting KO'd, he was getting outboxed and was cut. No need for melodrama, it's not like he'd been dropped 10 times in a row and looked out of it.

I think we sometimes forget that they are trying to create interest and sell tickets. They need to fill arenas, draw crowds to their fights.

Walker's moved up to 154 I'm pretty sure. Harlem Eubank would be a decent test for him at this stage I reckon.

That's it in a nutshell, but I don't think Dubois has the intelligence and discipline to stick behind the jab. He will get dragged into a war, and that plays into Wardleys hands I think. I will be more impressed with DDD if he can fight disciplined behind the jab and shut Wardley down than the Joshua destruction to be honest

Don't think so, in the post fight interview Walker said 154 was a bridge too far for hhim.

I agree with that; if Essuman was allowed to fight on I don't think it would have changed the outcome, but Essuman is the archetype of a fighter that comes on in the second half. Lest we forget Essuman was getting pieced up in the first few rounds against Josh Taylor but turned it around.
