Chisora is 42 now and hasn't fought many KO artists in his career. Parker had him down x3 in their 2021 rematch, Fury stopped him twice, Haye dropped him x2 and stopped him in 5, Whyte KO'd him cold. The clever matchmaking of Pulev-Washington-Joyce-Wallin is flattering Chisora's ability to take a punch at this stage.

Wardley is on a hot streak and he's a big puncher. Clarke looked like he'd had a stroke in round 1, Huni was dropped hard late, Parker hurt early, overwhelmed late.

He got an early stoppage vs Parker. the best opponent he’s actually beat is Huni, who, for all I know, is a journeyman in the making.

As far as Chisora being stopped goes, that’s part of fighting the best continually. Look how many fighters failed to stop him too, from Vitali to Kabayel to Whyte (the first time) to Usyk to Parker to Joyce. He’s tougher than you think, and his durability combined with his skills are enough to end the hype job unless they give another early stoppage, in my opinion.

A few years ago, Chisora. Today, Wardley massively.

He also should have taken Helenius’ 0 when they were both in their prime. Fight was a huge robbery

IIRC Wardley hurt Parker in the 2nd round and in the 10th round. Parker was sustaining a significant, continuous beating in the 11th round and throwing virtually nothing back for a minute or so. Of course he was going to get stopped. Parker was most likely on route to lose the fight even if it wasn't stopped as the 11th would have been scored 10-8, he'd been seriously hurt and Wardley has more determination.

Chisora's tough, no question about that. But he's been stopped 4x and dropped 6x, last stopped in 2022 and he's 42 now. Wardley is certainly one of the biggest punchers Chisora's faced, maybe the biggest. He's also in his prime, unlike 40's Pulev, 40's Washington, Joyce or even Wallin.

The mutual opponent comparison also favours Wardley: Wardley stopped Parker in the 11th while 6-4 down, Chisora was clearly outpointed and dropped x3 over 12 rounds in 2021.

Lively little slugfest but Wardley absolutely levels him before the midway point. Good matchmaking for Wardley against a slow plodder who has never won at the top level but whose popularity is probably at its height. Raises Wardley’s profile massively and gets him a super fight payday against Fury no doubt.

Wardley via stoppage. And likely inflicts permanent damage on Chisora.

I get it, it’s the way Chisora would choose to go out, but it’s absolutely horrible for his long term health. Would have been far better for him to fight another past it guy. Joyce, Wilder, Ruiz, etc. a young lion in his prime, who hits hard and has fast hands? Ugh.

it’s good matchmaking for Wardley for sure. Chisora can sell out a stadium, and for him to challenge for a title in his allegedly final match? Wouldn’t be surprised if they could sell out Wembley. That brings money and exposure to Wardley.

Why leave out that Chisora outboxed Parker the first time? They went 1-1. I feel Chisora is more durable than Parker, personally, and I don’t feel Wardley deserved the stoppage vs Parker. I guess we’ll have to see if it happens.

I don't get why people have such an issue with the Parker/Wardley stoppage.

Parker took a beating at the end of the 10th round and barely got through the round.

Parker clearly hadn't recovered and Wardley hit Parker with 20+ unanswered punches in the 11th round with a 40 second barrage.

The sustained beating Parker took in rounds 10 and 11 especially from a KO artist who's 240+ pounds.

I don't see anything wrong with the stoppage at all.

He was intelligently defending and throwing back. It's subjective ultimately, because there's nothing in the rules about taking a certain number of punches. Many of us feel that if a fighter is up on the cards, and still defending himself, you shouldn't stop the fight just because a guy lands a certain number of punches. Also a lot of those punches didn't seem hard anyway. A lot of them were just "connects". He did land some hard ones, but Parker didn't go down or stop defending himself for even a second.

    How?

Check BoxRec fan cards for yourself. He's up on the cards vs Parker and Whyte. The judges gave it to them, but fans picked Chisora. I personally had Chisora winning vs Parker 115-112

I'd watch this fight and neither would I rule Del out. Even now. Wardley cannot keep catching lightning in a bottle. He proves me wrong EVERY time, but I dont think he is that good. Super resilient with the ultimate argument settler but I don't think his basics are very good. Del roughs people up, makes them fight a fight they don't want to. I don't know how he does it huffing and puffing at his age, but he has been and is not yet a has been. I thought Joyce beat him to be fair but power aside, I don't think Fabio is many levels or even a level above him. Good fight
