The leap in power from Wardley/Clarke 1 to Wardley/Clarke 2 was shocking. He went from hitting Clarke with thousands of punches and going the distance to punching a literal hole into Clarke's skull (which is an injury a doctor described as "not possible") with one punch. Wardley of Clarke 1 looks mediocre for the most part. Wardley of Clarke 2 is possibly an unbeatable boxer.

He should get leaner, like Tyson Fury.

Nah. In the rematch Wardley hurt Clarke, Clarke backed to the corner and tried to initiate a clinch. Warldey pushed him off and Clarke ended up with his back turned toward Warldey. Wardley then caught him with a punch which Clarke did not see coming and he was hurt again. Two more right hands followed and Clarke was out.
And prior to the KO, Clarke was landing his jab and uppercut just as he did in the first fight, he was winning the round. Not to take anything away from Clarke, he set up that first right hand perfectly, I don´t intend to say it was fluke.
Clarke simply got caught in the rematch and was unable to recover. Wardley did not showcase that he was now leaps and bounds better than Clarke.

I don´t think many still realize just how hard Wardley punches.

Thought experiment: Let wardley punch a Device that measures punching power and then let joshua, zhang, wilder etc do it. Do you expect wardley to come out on top? I would expect him somewhere around parker.

Still, joshua, zhang and wilder don't punch dents into sculls. So that tells you how much that is worth as a tool for comparison. The point of impact has to be smaller and harder to do that.

So it is more about the glove or the way he hit clarke. I didn't rewatch it to look for how that happened and it certainly was a strong punch, but not one that will be able to consistently win fights at a higher level because it is so overpowered. Otherwise why didn't he win the first fight the same way when he hit clarke often enough?

Wardley will not get into the top 5 ever

Miller slapped Wardley at the press conference, I hope that Wardley will crush him in the fight...

Wardley wins comfortably by KO. I see it going similar to Miller vs. Dubois. Miller is too out of shape to beat a live Wardley.

Miller knows how to promote a fight if he isn't juiced up.

Same here. Wardley is overrated based on the clarke fight and because he's british. I mean if you compare wardley to bakole it should be obvious how far he still has to go. Bakole would wipe the floor with wardley (as would Zhang) and yet bakole has no hype anymore after one loss on short notice...

But miller is the logical next step. Maybe Wardley should have taken a clarke-like fight in between.

Anderson would be a better pick imo. Bad style match up for Wardley with Miller.

Yes Anderson would be perfect. Also before the bakole fight Anderson was on a super similar career trajectory as Wardley. They were british and american counterparts, both with their hype and being flawed, super offensive minded fighters. Had they made it before anderson bakole, this fight would have been amazing to look forward to.
