My first instincts when this fight was announced was that Wardley's power would be too much, but now the fight is getting closer I'm not too sure. Lerena can seriously bang; he put Dubois on his back and in serious trouble. When Lerena fought Huni he came in like a man possessed, having recently lost his mother, but Huni stood up to his onslaught and did enough to outbox him and get the nod (though I think that fight could have gone either way). If Wardley can't make an impression on Huni in the first few rounds, then I think Huni with his superior boxing ability and speed will take over as Wardley slows; this fight is a true 50/50 for me, but if Huni makes it through the first few rounds unscathed then I think he will do enough to win.

Hometown fight! Despite the change in opponent, I think it'll be a KO win for Wardley, building him up for the fringe world level fighters.

There is no way that a guy who was put on jelly legs by Lerena, who would match Joshua in dancing ability, will be able to overcome Wardley. Wardley is a nutter who used to turn up to bare knuckle street fights on his own with hundreds of people baying for his blood. He might get hit but he’ll beat this bloke into oblivion.

This Lerena lad had Dubois in big trouble as well.

Wardley by a brutal KO for me tonight.

Wardley KO. Don't rate Huni in the slightest, and if he was the second coming, Hearn wouldn't have offered him up to save the card

Yes and the excuse was Dubois tore the anterior cruciate ligament but I am not sure if I believe that. Lerena isn't useless but he isn't that good either. There's a video of Huni doing a funny dance before going down in sparring, too. He's getting knocked out by this nutcase Wardley, who would also annihilate the likes of Joshua.

The card today is so uninspiring. Interested to see Perez-Ward.

I agree, except someone says Whyte is headlining a show in Saudi in August, which would be a surprise to me. If he is, he must be getting stuck out to pasture versus another Queensbury boxer. Could it be a stepping stone for Itauma?

Must be Joshua or War Chisora if he is the headline fight.

Is Whyte still fighting our old friend TBA tonight?

Nope, he’s fighting Itauma out in Saudi instead on 16th August

LOL. What a way to go out for Whyte. They must be paying him decent money.

That round 6 between Ward and Perez was great. If only there was a crowd there to appreciate it.
They're all inside because it's pissing it down in Ipswich
