I don't get the controversy with the count. Yeah he almost got up at 10, that doesn't mean Oh well you almost beat the 10 count so I will ignore the rules and get you to walk forward and see if you can continue. Yeah his hand are off the canvas but that isn't the definition of getting up, he was still hunched over and not upright. Yes it's disappointing that all that good work was erased by 1 punch but that's boxing. You make one mistake and the fight can be turned on it's head.

Personally after the fight Huni went up in my estimation. He did better than I thought, I knew he'd be ahead and would out skill the very limited Wardley but I didn't think he'd be that much in control. It's a shame he doesn't have a bigger punch or better chin, he could probably get away with one of those flaws but both combined with his style where he needs to be the one pressing will always make it a difficult fight when he's facing a genuine puncher as he will have to take risks by coming forward and will have to do it for 12 rounds and hope he doesn't switch off and get caught like he did last night. He's fun to watch though, I will definitely tune in to more Huni fights. Hopefully he gets more opportunities.

Wardley I knew was limited, which is why I thought the also very limited Clarke would beat him both times. But damn he can clearly punch and carries that power late into a fight, which will always make him dangerous. But just how poor a boxer he is was exposed by Huni. His defence genuinely sucks, same damn defensive move every time and he puts himself in positions where he can't counter and so Huni could just go at him. He needs to fix these flaws because at a higher level someone will literally walk right over him if he can't stop doing that and that big right hand won't mean a thing because he keeps putting himself in positions where he can't throw it, which is why the commentary team were saying he wasn't throwing it enough. Huni was simply forcing him into defensive positions where he couldn't throw it.

What most people (who don't know **** about boxing) are not picking up is that the ref picked up the count at 4 or 5 from the ringside knockdown official.

Stupid people think the ref just started counting at 4 or 5...and the rest is history.

Most people don't understand that referees rely on the ringside knockdown official for the correct count. They think the ref just starts counting when the knockdown occurs. On a small show or amateur show with less officials the ref is more responsible for the count.

The ringside knockdown official didn't rush the count. He started counting when Huni hit the canvas.

No controversy at all. Wardley literally rocked Huni's world. Huni was probably very happy ref called it.

Wardley was blowing out his arse after round 3, likely the occasion got to him, what with it being the big home coming. Huni really was boxing his ears off and I think he sensed Wardley was ready to fold, went for it and got clocked. From what little I saw of the count, it was pretty much bang on time, with Huni still being unsteady when he got to his feet. Wardley likely would have got to him again soon after as inspite of all his limitations, his finishing instincts isn't one of them

Part of why people talk about the count is surely the stupid choice of cameras. Showing the adience (even if it was one of the most commited home audiences I remember) for the whole count of the referee is a bad joke. They only went back to the ring when the referee already waved it off. Catastrophic directorial work...

    British stoppage.

However I normally defend the referee in these circumstances so I can't say **** this time....

Huni, his promoter Eddie Hearn, and his manager Spencer Brown said that Huni had a few injuries going into the fight and they were a day away from pulling him out with a shoulder injury a week before the fight. He did very well considering he had a 4.5 week camp and travelled half-way across the world.

Think the fight perfectly exposed each others flaws. Huni would be a real problem for this division but that chin will get him found out more often than not. Wardley has great power but against fighters with word level power or world level boxing IQ he doesn't stand a chance.

Put the best qualities of these fighters together you'd have one of the best heavyweights out there right now lol.

All Ben Davidson`s fighters keep their leads hands low, Wardley had zero defense vs Huni just like AJ vs Dubois.

I don't see a problem with his chin. it's not like he got rocked or knees buckled everytime he got hit
He goes down once and suddenly he has no chin, comon it was a great shot
