Wardley's going to have to learn quickly to get much further. In a way losing might have been better for him as it would have given him the chance to have a few learning fights against lesser opponents and, like Dubois, come back the better for it but now he'll be going up against elite level fighters.

He is never going to magically acquire the intrinsic skill developed by a long amateur career; his approach will always be to go the trenches and hope his power and toughness is enough. I suppose he could try and be more educated with that approach, but he doesn't have the capacity to make any fundamental changes, and TBH any big changes to his approach would probably make him worse.

Agreed. Heard bits of the corner work earlier in the fight which sounded spot on advise tbf...good motivation mainly. But bad advise going into that last round. Think they told him to keep building on his work.

He had the fight won at that point tho....knowing wardley was capable of that it was really bad advise at that point imo.

Should have been telling him to stay switched on...minimise the risk of the hail mary. Not committing as much as he was etc. He didnt need to at that point.

Complacency from the corner probably based on huni beating him all ways up tbf at least until wardley landed the big shot.

Ended up costing him the fight.

There's similarities to Deontay Wilder with Wardley (not a criticism btw).

Good to see the next wave of British HWs come through, with the old one's hopefully on the way out.

How do we actually know Wardley has a good chin? He's not been hit by anyone who punches hard has he?

Wardley isn't great technically and all this iron chin talk is rubbish. At this level you get hit you get splattered just like joyce and parker have been with their granite....luckily for wardley he hits hard and is tough that can get you very far yes he was out boxed easily by huni but not many heavy are that good usyk aside. He has a chance of going further although it will take clever matchmaking.

As for hunis chin same rubbish, this guy will go on to have the better career, boxing wise he's miles ahead of most he could win a world title.

Bold of you to imply that Huni’s a better boxer than Wardley less than 10 hours after being knocked out by him. Fair play mate.

In heavyweight boxing, you need at least one of two key ingredients in order to be successful:
    1.) a decent chin, or
    2.) knockout power
    Huni has neither.

There's nothing to suggest he will go on to have the better career.

Personally I’d like him to fight Chisora next

100%. He didn’t give him any chance what so ever. He probably wouldn’t have survived the 90 seconds but was unfair not to get a chance. Again, we know why.

How do you know? Nobody saw how he was when he got up as the ref waved it off instantly.

Agree, but they were probably paranoid about getting robbed and who can blame them. Britain is renowned for it.

He was unsteady and is already chinny as it is. He didn't once complain. He would have been on the end of a terrible beating.
