Hagler says there's a bond when he sees Hearns and they get along, but Hagler doesn't share that bond with Leonard.

It would be fantastic if they could all get together in a 'Champions Forever' style show, but I doubt it will ever happen. Too much resentment from Hagler against Leonard. If someone offers enough $$$ then who knows? I doubt it though. I don't think the interest would generate enough money.

Yeah, that would be fantastic. An interpreter would be needed for Duran.

Apparently Duran gets on with all of them.

George Kimball's 2008 book on the fab four, FOUR KINGS, answers many of those questions.

In it, there is mention at one stage of a proposed veteran's boxing circuit, featuring SRL, Marvin, Tommy & Duran. As time wore on and relationships soured, particularly between Hagler & SSL, the idea died a natural death.

Hagler has been living in Italy for many years, and is said to be still crook on SRL. Apparently he never got over not getting the decision in their match-up.

If they could get Frazier and Ali together than why not Hagler and Leonard? Why is Hagler so pissed at Leonard about that? All Leonard did was get the decision.

In Sports Illustrated it said that Hagler was bitter that SRL never gave him a rematch.

The FOUR KINGS book says similar:

1/ Hagler was cranky not getting the decision.
    2/ Hagler wanted a re-match.

But SRL played the game and his opponents like nobody else!!

Well said. Against Hagler, he threw his flurries at exactly the right times in order to catch the eyes of the judges and the crowd. He was just a masterful tactician.

Duran is friends with Ken Buchanon even after he tried to give him a vasectomy with that uppercut. I think once he retired Duran became some sort of jolly fat man.

I think it must be hard to like Leonard if you were his competitor. He was a spectacular fighter, but his personality is so cocky and above it all that there is nothing much to like on a personal level.

Hearns and Duran get on fine with him.

Bottom line - If Hagler beat Leonard he'd be absolutely fine with him

    :yep

    Disagree John.

Remember when Sugar retired, and he had Hagler flown in under the "impression" that Sugar was to fight on? Hagler was livid, absolutely livid about that. Furious.
