Hi all. can people recomend any of the full face saver head huards? need to get back into sparring but been told by work i cant show up with cuts bruises or a broken nose.... for some reason. lonsdales look ok. any experience with these type of head guards
I got one from Fight Gear. It's solid but heavy and bulky. I have broken my nose twice and the last time required surgury, so I don't mind it. Takes a little getting used to though. If you have a white collar job, would def recommend.
Yeh im not bothered but im managment now so theyve told me its a no no... so need something that will work
You will get hit alot more. Esp with jabs, and if you like to move your head, it will be cumbersome... but you get used to it. The vison isnt actually a problem with the one I got.
http://shop.boundboxing.com/cleto-reyes-headgear-with-nylon-bar.html I hear good stuff about this one, the headgear is made of really soft foam and the bar i think is made of nylon so you dont feel anything at all, i asked someone who has both the winning and this headgear, they told me that if the reyes wasnt a one size fits all they'd be equal to winning.
yeh mate i know they are bulky and you get hit more. Iv sparred in alsorts of headgear and its nothing about being a tough guy but i prefer the smaller ones ... or no head guard. My head head guard came off once and it felt so much better. easier to avoid punches and if you do get clocked seems to be less hurtful if that makes sense its by the by anyways as its for bruises cuts and nose damage for work! :| obviously the best is winning and the cleto reyes looks awesome too just soo much money for what im doing at the moment! this lonsdale one looks decent just wanna know if anyones used it http://www.sugarrays.co.uk/shop/lonsdale-face-saver-headguard.html iv head some people buying this type of headguard with some brands and still getting alot of nose damage cuts and bruises. at the end of the day its boxing and i dont expect or particularly want to come out completely unscathed.... i just have to limit it as much as possible especially as i want to be sparring alot which i do!:bbb thanks guys for any recomendations
Hey John, my coach bought that Cleto headguard and i have to say its worth it as he bought it for the same reason cause he didnt want any cuts etc. i suggest saving up and buying those in my opinion unless you are in a hurry. Also, careful from SugarRay .. bought a hugee stock from there ($2000) for us guys which we paid on 6th Jan '12 and still didn't arrive yet cause 3/4 of the items are out of stock so if you buy from there e-mail them before to check if they are in stock
