Facing Ali the movie

to tell u the truth i was a bit disappointed with the tyson doc. the sexual references left a bad taste in my mouth. although it was quite funny to hear that he met the president of istanbul lol.this should be good though.thx poster

I read the book, its worth reading. Documentary looks pretty good.

 

Yeah, I vouch for the book. The author, Stephen Brunt, is probably the best sports columnist Canada has produced. A good book that gives interesting looks at a wide swath of fighters, the "Ali experience" and where they ended up.

It'll be interesting to see how the film handles the Frazier situation. It seems to be becoming a hot topic in pop/media culture.

Holmes has some interesting things to say about knowing "the real Ali". I wonder if he'll keep that tact in the flick.

 

Well at the very least Cooper is there aswell.

 

Guy above mentioned Cooper and Lyle is also listed in the credits. I found a reference to there being 10 opponents in the film so that just leaves 1 more.

Tunney Hunsaker died a few years ago.

I did think some of the Euro guys had interesting stories (Blin in particular, I think it was).

And you'd think Wepner would jump at something like this.
