to tell u the truth i was a bit disappointed with the tyson doc. the sexual references left a bad taste in my mouth. although it was quite funny to hear that he met the president of istanbul lol.this should be good though.thx poster
there's 15 fighters in the book you think they only have foreman, chuvalo, spinks, norton, tarrell, frazier, holmes in the doc
yer i was disappointed to never been a fan of toback always thought tyson's story would make a great book imagine the tyson memoirs with him telling all, it would be a massive hit
Yeah, I vouch for the book. The author, Stephen Brunt, is probably the best sports columnist Canada has produced. A good book that gives interesting looks at a wide swath of fighters, the "Ali experience" and where they ended up. It'll be interesting to see how the film handles the Frazier situation. It seems to be becoming a hot topic in pop/media culture.
I went looking for more info on the movie and found an online copy of the book. At least, parts of the book (some pages aren't included). If interested in scrolling & reading: http://books.google.com/books?id=WZH-RsiILhEC&printsec=frontcover#PPP1,M1 Holmes has some interesting things to say about knowing "the real Ali". I wonder if he'll keep that tact in the flick.
Guy above mentioned Cooper and Lyle is also listed in the credits. I found a reference to there being 10 opponents in the film so that just leaves 1 more. Tunney Hunsaker died a few years ago. I did think some of the Euro guys had interesting stories (Blin in particular, I think it was). And you'd think Wepner would jump at something like this.
