I could see someone 6'4.9" becoming champ.

I said "Fury deserved to win"
Obviously I thought you were talking about the current champion. Their names do cross over.
Of the short prospects, I think Parker has good power and hand speed, but at 6"4, you have to wonder if the tall heavies are going to follow the "dance and tag" blueprint. Lewis vs Tua was one of the most dire examples of short guy with power vs tall guy who can box, and once Lewis beat Tyson and Holyfield, the blueprint was set.

This is the angle Joseph Parker is taking. He has said he has been using Mike Tyson (and his style) as a study source and inspiration and is working in that direction to try and deal with taller guys. We get to see him fight someone 4 inches taller than him tomorrow night, one way or another it'll give an indication of how his preparations are going... there will be a good couple years before he'll be pointed at people like Fury but while they're laying down the fundamentals it will be interesting.

The 1 punch KO power he has is not a thing of question, Klitschko has already called him "powerful" while he just started picking up and he's come a long way since even when he was sparring with WK.

I like Parker but a 2 round KO over the 125 boxrec ranked Martz doesn't prove a thing. Bergman - same. He is keeping busy, and fighting guys with different styles (tall, spaw etc.)
He is very aggressive (not quite like Mike, but who is)which, whatever happens, means I will be watching his fights from here on in - win or lose
I can't think of a single reason for anyone hating on Parker for fighting the way he does at the age of 23

Well 6'4'' is not short either. Not like Tyson's 5'10'' 1/2 to compete with tll guys.

That's a silly statement. Someone comes along with Tyson's physical attributes for example? If you're a good enough boxer, and disciplined, you can negate an opponent's height advantage.

I don't know about that. A fighter with a similar style to Mike Tyson or the great Jack dempsey (Mannasa Mauler, not non-pareil,) would be able to give any tall guy fits.

It would take a smaller guy with immense power in both hands, good head movement and someone clever enough to navigate their way into the danger zone to get their shots off.

I will say though that it will be tougher in general for smaller sized HW's to become champion when there are SHW mammoths that are allowed to campaign in the division. SO esentially, it would take a very special fighter to usurp one of these really large HW's.

We should leave this discussion after the Povetin-Wilder fight.

Not quite, but it's a guideline. A smaller man, if he has the power, chin, will, and skills can beat a much larger near evenly skilled opponent, but he's got to get past the jab, avoid being nailed coming in, and avoid clinches where he's giving up too much weight.

Holyfield on a fair score card is 1-4 vs Lewis and Bowe.

Wlad was upset at near 40, and it took a super heavyweight to do it, but I don't think Fury is near as good as the others mentioned.

Maybe Joshua is, and he's 6'5".

The term super heavyweight with skills has no official guideline, but here's how I see it.

Height needs to be 6'4" or higher.
Weight needs to be 230 pounds or higher.
Reach needs to be 79" or greater.

TWO our of THREE and you're a super heavyweight. Three out of three and there's no debating it, especially if exceed all the benchmarks.

    Wilder isn't the true champ

This is how I define the true champ: simply the best guy in the division with the best resume that is holding the HW title and won it from the previous true champ

It's gone like this from 2001:

Lewis, who then retired due to Vitali in 2003
Vitali, who wouldn't fight Wlad and slowed down/retired
Wlad who reigned until he faced fury
Tyson Fury, who is now the man

Everyone who was champ from 2001 that is not one of these 4 men were simply paper champs and nobody will remember them historically.

Even if true I disagree with your statement. If a Mike Tyson or a Larry Holmes (6'3") or a George Foreman (6'4") type fighter came along today I see no reason why they couldn't beat Tyson Fury or a shot version of Wlad.
