Just posted this in the RBR thread

Inoue has just moved up to a new weight division and in his first 2 fights in it he iced 2 fighters in a round a piece who have never been stopped before, one of whom was a reigning world champion who hadn't officially lost a fight in a decade, the other being a former world champion whose only loss was a MD in a world title fight to a guy he'd already beaten. And McDonnell was absolutely gigantic (both height, reach and weight wise) for the weight. Inoue blasted them both out of there like they were frail old ladies, again, neither of them had ever been stopped before, let alone blown away with contemptuous ease.

Inoue's last 6 opponents have only ever been legitimately stopped by one fighter - Inoue. I say legitimately because one of them was stopped on a cut. And none of them made it past the halfway point and most if not all of them were utterly wrecked.

He's stopped 8 opponents who had never legitimately been stopped before or after facing him (other than the 1 who was stopped on a cut) - and he's only had 17 fights and he's in his third division now lol

Jesus christ you're making him sound like the second coming of Ruben Olivares or something.

I like him as much as the next guy but stopping opponents who have never been stopped doesn't really mean much when the biggest punchers they've ever faced was either Moreno or Rau'shee Warren. Both wins are indeed excellent wins for someone who just moved to the weight, but Payano has hardly had some murderers row of competition and was knocked down against a random Pinoy in the fight before Inoue decapitated him and McDonnell was likely very compromised at the weight.

Some perspective, people. Excellent wins that elevate him in the P4P standings but people comparing him to Julian Jackson and stuff all of a sudden... Get back to me when he cracks a chin the level of Buster Drayton, whom sparred hundreds and hundreds of rounds with a prime Marvin Hagler. His main sparring partner.

Inoue's win saw him set the Japanese record for most successive T/KO's in world title fights (7) and most T/KO's win world title fights (11), at 12-0 in world title fights he's nearing the tied record for most wins in world title fights (14, Gushiken and Ioka, who are both 14-1 in world title bouts)

I believe Joe Smith is the bigger puncher.

Would have to see more, there's levels to this. We saw how everything GGG touched, he broke, until he met Alavarez chin. He landed clean blows at it and Alvarez kept pressing forward.

I like Inoue he's a very exciting fighter who just seems to take people apart with one shot, but he's still got a lot to prove. I'll be rooting for him to win the WBSS that's for sure, nothing like watching a new huge puncher breakout and capture people's attention.

Jesus Christ you are making Julian Jackson sound like the second coming of Rocky Marciano. Besides green Norris & Graham, he's the highlight-reel KO artist of the 2nd class, hardly murderers row between them.
