Wouldn't a boxer have an unfair advantage in a street fight, because he actually knows how to throw a punch properly?
So in the case of Floyd vs. Josie Harris, would it be considered assault and battery w/ a deadly weapon vs. plain ole assault and battery?
Urban legend, the same as with a black belt in Karate. A boxer can defend himself just like anyone else and can be held liable for battery if he hits someone without justification, just like anyone else.
very true even if an amatuer my bro in law got done and the judge told him exactly that his hands are considered as weapons
As a fighter I can tell you that, in and of itself, charges from a fight would be the same as any pedestrian, however the prosecution would use this as a major point in selling any case involving punches being thrown. It is something that would be considered for sure.
lol The judge was bsing your brother-in-law then. If you wear gloves or mittens, is that considered carrying a concealed weapon? lol I was an amateur boxer as were probably a lot of people on this site and never heard a word about registering my hands. I have a black belt in Okinawan Karate and didn't have to notify anyone. URBAN LEGEND!
