The guy worked a tough job so he could pursue his dream and you're gonna try and knock him for it? By the way, what kind of a janitor welds and fixes machinery? I think your confusing occupations there.

How am I knocking Jennings. He seems like an honest and hard working guy, I'd never knock that. What we should be critical of though is mismatches of epic proportions. On the one hand you have a guy with 60+ fights, 15 years elite boxing experience, a professional team of 12 -- personal dietician, massage therapist, two trainers, and god knows what experts -- and the you have a guy who works a full time job and started boxing like 4 years ago.

Yes it might be a Apollo Creed vs. Rocky Balboa story but let's face it guy this is a crazy mismatch and HBO is trying to hype this as an intriguing matchup. It's not.

    Right?

"Let's all chortle at someone who clawed their way into contention for the heavyweight crown having a blue-collar job, even though boxing has always been populated largely by the working class."

    :?

Yes but then HBO didn't try to hype it up as a legit matchup.

There's a difference between marketing it fraudulently as being a legit pick 'em match-up and calling it the most legit match-up left for WK before he retires, which it very arguably could be even with Jennings standing very little chance.

Can we never again put Jennings' name and Leapai's together, for any reason?

    Thanks.

    Hmm...

I truly don't get the impression that anyone is belittling Jennings for being a working-class citizen. It's the deck being so heavily stacked against him that seems to be getting pointed out here.

The man's work ethic, confidence, and bright attitude are truly commendable traits, but I don't think he'll ever be the same after this weekend. This isn't a work of fiction; this is real life.

People on this site make threads about how "they can't wait to see Klitschko destroyed this weekend" etc, in an attempt to dump on the champ. The fact is, the chances for a professional of Wladimir's pedigree to lose this weekend are extremely low, especially to a guy who only recently became a full-time boxer. Wlad deserves this much distinction as the heavy favorite. He is simply that much better than the rest of the division.

From the initial press conference and several interviews, it's clear that even Wlad knows that the deck is stacked against his opponent, despite how commendable it is that Jennings wanted to face the best.

Funny how most American heavys these days fight because there's a need and a wide market for it now....wilder former basketball player, Jennings a janitor....other countries invest and breed heavies most in the states don't see the glory anymore and chose to look elsewhere
